Guy Maddison
Guy Bernard Maddison (born 31 March 1965) is an Australian punk and grunge musician. From 1986 to 1989 he worked as a member of noise rock group Lubricated Goat and appeared on their album ''Paddock of Love''. He was a member of Bloodloss (1993–97), a blues-punk band, alongside Mark Arm on vocals. From 2001 Maddison is the bass guitarist of the United States-based grunge band, Mudhoney (which includes Arm), and has worked on their studio albums, '' Since We've Become Translucent'' (2002), '' Under a Billion Suns'' (2006), '' The Lucky Ones'' (2008), ''Vanishing Point'' (2013), and ''Digital Garbage'' (2018). Mudhoney
Mudhoney is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1988, following the demise of Green River. Its members are singer and rhythm guitarist Mark Arm, lead guitarist Steve Turner, bassist Guy Maddison and drummer Dan Peters. Original bassist Matt Lukin left the band in 1999. Mudhoney's early releases on the Sub Pop label, particularly their debut single " Touch Me I'm Sick" and the '' Superfuzz Bigmuff'' EP, were instrumental in the creation of the Grunge genre. Since We've Become Translucent
''Since We've Become Translucent'' is the sixth studio album by the grunge band Mudhoney, released in 2002. The album was the first to be recorded after the departure of their original bassist, Matt Lukin, three years earlier. It was also the first to be released through Sub Pop after the band returned to the label. ''Since We've Become Translucent'' marked a prominent change in the band's sound. The album was a departure from their typical garage-oriented sound and features a relatively accessible rock sound. King Snake Roost
King Snake Roost (also known as KSR) were one of a number of Australian and International guitar-based bands who emerged from within the punk rock and post-punk scene of the mid-1980s that came to be defined as noise rock. King Snake Roost formed in 1985 in Adelaide and in 1987 the band moved to Sydney. The band broke up in 1990 after a two-month tour of the US. In Australia and the USA the band played with some of the most influential noise rock bands of the 1980s, including Sonic Youth, Big Black, Mudhoney, Helmet, Babes In Toyland, Lubricated Goat, feedtime and The Mark of Cain. ''In the Raw'' is a 2009 documentary film about Lubricated Goat's nude appearance on Australian TV. In November 1988, Andrew Denton's '' Blah Blah Blah'' program caused a nationwide stir by allowing guitar group Lubricated Goat to perform on Australian Broadcasting Corporation TV completely naked. The resulting media frenzy jammed phone lines as the public debated this supposed decline in Australian media standards. Cousin Creep
Cousin Creep is the performance name of Australian-born radio presenter, Craig Barnes. He was involved in the local alternative and independent music scenes. In the late 1980s he published a limited run cassette fanzine, ''Aliens Mutants''. From 1989 to 1995 he ran an independent record label, Hippy Knight Records, which released singles by Superchunk. It issued a tribute album for the Go-Betweens, ''Right Here a Tribute to the Go-Betweens'' (1995) by various artists, including cover versions by Frente, The Meanies, Snout and Smudge. He worked on radio station, 3RRR, and presented the shows, ''Trash on a Platter'', ''Paint the Town Clear Gloss'', ''Vindaloo Cocktail'' and ''Breakfasters'' (2000 and 2001). Blah Blah Blah (TV Series)
''Blah Blah Blah'' was a 1988 comedy television show starring Andrew Denton, broadcast on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The show is most notable for the fact that it began the television careers of many Australian performers including Anthony Ackroyd, Flacco and Roy & HG. With its late night time slot, it was able to get away with a lot more adult humour and content than many other shows of the era. Regular segments included ''In Bed Tonight with James Scanlon,'' and a performance by a rock band''.'' A running joke at the beginning of the series was that Denton was the "work experience kid" filling in while they were waiting for the real star of the show to arrive, à la Waiting for Godot. Brett Ford
Brett Taylor Ford (30 December 195921 July 2007) was an Australian rock music drummer and songwriter. Ford was a founder of noise rockers, Lubricated Goat (1986–89) in Perth. During the 1980s Ford played in many different bands, including the Kryptonics (1986–87) and X (with Ian Rilen of Rose Tattoo). In 1987 Ford and his then-wife, Melanie Greensmith, established a rock couture fashion label, Wheels and Doll Baby. According to Ford's family, he died in 2007 from Cardiac arrest. Stu Spasm
Stuart Gray (born 1961), better known by his moniker Stu Spasm, is an Australian musician and composer best recognized as the frontman for the experimental noise rock outfit Lubricated Goat. Biography Spasm (Gray) commenced his musical journey in Adelaide, South Australia. A devotee of Adelaide’s bourgeoning Punk scene, Spasm worked hard on his guitar playing, developing a New York Dolls/Johnny Thunders repertoire. His first band named Exhibit A played primarily covers sourced from the Dolls, MC5, Birdman and other east coast US artists. Spasm had already displayed a canny understanding of “who could be of help” before leaving for Sydney. ''Digital Garbage'' is the tenth studio album by the alternative rock band Mudhoney. It was released on September 19, 2018. This is their seventh studio album release on Sub Pop. Critical reception ''Digital Garbage'' received generally positive reviews from most music critics. At Metacritic, they assign a "weighted average" score out of 100 to reviews and ratings from mainstream critics, and the album received a Metascore of 75, based on 17 reviews. Allmusic's Mark Deming affirmed that "Digital Garbage isn't quite Mudhoney's great protest album, but as a reaction to a chaotic and divisive time, it's powerfully eloquent in its own grimy way, and it shows they can still sound like nothing but themselves without being tethered to the past.
