Guangzhou Football Club, formerly known as Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao Football Club, is a professional Chinese football club that participates in the Chinese Super League under the license of the Chinese Football Association. The team is based in Guangzhou, Guangdong, and their home stadium is the Tianhe Stadium which has a seating capacity of 54,856. Their majority shareholders are the Evergrande Real Estate Group (56.71%) and the e-commerce company Alibaba Group (37.81%), while the rest of the shares are traded in the Chinese OTC system. The club was founded in 1954, and won several second tier titles before turning professional in 1993. Their results improved, leading to a runners-up spot in China's top tier. South China Tiger
The South China tiger is a population of the '' Panthera tigris tigris'' subspecies that is native to southern China. The population mainly inhabited the Fujian, Guangdong, Hunan and Jiangxi provinces. It has been listed as Critically Endangered on the China's Red List of Vertebrates and is possibly extinct in the wild since no wild individual has been recorded since the late 1980s. In the late 1990s, continued survival was considered unlikely because of low prey density, widespread habitat degradation and fragmentation, and other human pressures. 2015 AFC Champions League Final
The 2015 AFC Champions League Final was the final of the 2015 AFC Champions League, the 34th edition of the top-level Asian club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the 13th under the current AFC Champions League title. The final was contested in two-legged home-and-away format between Emiratis team Al-Ahli and Chinese team Guangzhou Evergrande. Peng Weiguo
Peng Weiguo (; born October 3, 1971 in Guangzhou) is a Chinese football coach and a former international player. As a player he represented Guangzhou Apollo, Chongqing Longxin and Shenzhen Pingan while internationally he represented the Chinese national team at the 1992 and 1996 AFC Asian Cup. After retiring he moved into coaching and became the assistant coach at Shenzhen Pingan before gaining his first Head coaching position at Shanghai Stars. 1994 Chinese Jia-A League
The 1994 Chinese Jia-A League season is the inaugural season of professional association football and the 33rd top-tier overall league season held in China. The league was expanded to twelve teams and started on April 17, 1994 and ended on November 13 with Dalian Wanda winning the championship. Overview By the start of the 1994 league season the Chinese Football Association had been demanding full professionalism since 1992, this meant that private businesses were allowed to own or sponsor football clubs for the first time. The Chinese FA would also sell the television rights to CCTV for 450,000 Yuan and gain sponsorship for the league from Marlboro. Hu Zhijun (; ; born July 24, 1970) is a retired Chinese football player. He won the first Golden Boot Award of Chinese professional football league after scoring 17 goals in the 1994 Chinese Jia-A League. Zhou Sui'an
Zhou Sui'an (born 29 January 1961 in Guangzhou) is a Chinese football manager. He most recently worked as the manager of China Super League side Hangzhou Greentown. Management career Guangzhou Apollo Zhou Sui'an became a professional coach after graduating from the Guangzhou Sports Institute. His ties to Guangzhou allowed Zhou Sui'an his first chance to be the Head coach of Guangzhou football team in 1990. He immediately made an impact when he quickly saw the team promoted to the top tier in his first attempt by coming second in the league. Wu Qunli (born March 20, 1960, in Guangzhou) is a Chinese football coach and former international midfield player. As a player he represented Guangzhou FC and Hong Kong First Division League side South China, while internationally he also played for his country in the 1988 Summer Olympics and 1992 AFC Asian Cup. Zhao Dayu (; 17 January 1961 – 18 March 2015), also known as , was a Chinese coach, businessman and a former international football striker. He was a naturalized citizen of Japan. As a footballer he played his whole career for Guangzhou F.C., where he was Nicknamed "Dwarf Tiger" because of his short sature, while internationally he was called up to the Chinese national team, where he took part in the 1984 Asian Cup. The Cultural Revolution, formally known as the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, was a sociopolitical movement in the People's Republic of China (PRC) launched by Mao Zedong in 1966, and lasting until his death in 1976.
