Gripin (English: ''The Flu'') is a Turkish rock band based in Istanbul. The members are Birol Namoğlu (vocals), Murat Başdoğan (guitar), Arda İnceoğlu (bass guitar), and İlker Baliç (drums). The beginning They started as a cover band, playing in bars like ''Bronx'' in mid-'90s, and earned a cult following. Their wide repertoire not only included Britpop, but also featured examples of American alternative rock and in some cases, Turkish rock. The band started off together in 1999 playing mostly cover tracks in Turkish bars and clubs. Soon, they managed to establish themselves as a name behind the music they covered. Hikayeler Anlatıldı In the early 2000s, they started recording their own songs and released the album Hikayeler Anlatıldı (''Stories were Told'') in 2004, which was later released as a double album containing acoustic versions of the album's songs. GRGDN
GRGDN is a Turkish music production and artist management company and record label based in Istanbul. The name of the company originates from the Turkish word ''gergedan'' which means rhinoceros. It was founded in 2003 by OIART-graduated producer Haluk Kurosman and Hadi Elazzi, who had previously worked for such companies like Sire Records (Warner Music) or Sony Music Turkey. The company has its own recording studio in Ulus, Istanbul and does the management of several renowned Turkish artists. In 2011 Haluk Kurosman parted ways with GRGDN to become a freelance producer. Record label GRGDN released the first album of Turkish rock band Gripin as an independent record label. Together with Sony BMG they released several other albums. The studio recordings usually take place at the company's own studio, supervised by Haluk Kurosman. Emre Aydın (born 2 February 1981) is a Turkish rock singer-songwriter. The singer won the MTV Europe Music Awards 2008 in the "Europe's Favourite Act" category. He is also the former lead singer for the Turkish rock band 6. Cadde. Biography Emre Aydın was born in Isparta on 2 February 1981 as the first child of Şaban and Nermin Aydın, who are both pharmacists. He has a younger brother named Yiğit. Hadi Nabil Elazzi (born December 7, 1973, Istanbul) is one of the founders of Turkish music production - management company and record label GRGDN. He was the manager of several renown Turkish artists like maNga, Gripin, Göksel, emreaydın and Vega. Early years Hadi Elazzi was born into a mixed family - a Turkish mother and a Lebanese father.
