Girabola
Girabola, or ''Campeonato Nacional de Futebol em Séniores Masculinos'', is the top division of Angolan football. It is organized by the Angolan Football Federation. The league winner and runner-up qualify for the CAF Champions League. Girabola ZAP In January 2016, Angolan subscription TV satellite and cable provider ZAP, the Angolan Football Federation and the Girabola clubs, signed a three-year deal in which ZAP will have broadcast rights over all Girabola matches. As part of the deal, the Angolan state-owned TV station TPA will be allowed to broadcast one game per week on its free-view platform. Also as part of the deal, the Girabola changes its denomination to Girabola ZAP. Atlético Petróleos De Luanda
Atlético Petróleos de Luanda, also known as Petro Atlético de Luanda, or simply Petro Atlético or Petro de Luanda, is a football club from Luanda, Angola, founded in 1980. The club won its first title, the Angolan League, in 1982 and is the most successful team in the country. In its initial days, the club was known as Petroclube. Four players from Petro Atlético represented Angola at their first World Cup in 2006: Lebo Lebo, Lamá, Zé Kalanga and Delgado. The club has also a basketball team. Cuando Cubango FC
Cuando Cubango Futebol Clube or simply Cuando Cubango FC is an Angolan sports club from the city of Menongue, in the Angolan southern province of Cuando Cubango. The club was founded as Futebol Clube da Casa Militar. In 2016, the team secured a place in the Gira Angola (Angola's second division championship) in 2016 after winning the Cuando Cubango province football championship. In 2017, the club qualified for the Angolan top division, the Girabola. In 2018, the club decided to change the name to Cuando Cubango Futebol Clube. Financial difficulties On January 22, 2022, during the 2021-22 Girabola season, the club's management threatened to drop out of the competition, citing financial difficulties related to an expense of 300 million kwanzas, but revealing the club was working together with the government of the Cuando Cubango province to find a solution. Académica Petróleos do Lobito, usually known as Académica Lobito, are a football (soccer) club from Lobito, Angola. The club was founded in 1970 as Académica da Chilimba by Mr. Geraldo Guiado and a few associates. In 1981, a sponsoring deal with Angolan state-owned oil company Sonangol resulted in the club's name to be changed to the current designation. They are competing in 2009 in the Girabola. Segundona aka Torneio de Apuramento ''(Qualification Tournament)'' or Gira Angola is the 2nd division of Angolan football (soccer). It is organized by the Angolan Football Federation and gives access to Angola's top tier football division Girabola. Unlike most league systems worldwide, Angola does not have a regular second-tier league system. The teams that are relegated from the top-tier league in Angola, the Girabola, are relegated to the provincial championship from which they originate, the so-called provincial stages. The 2019–20 CAF Champions League (officially the 2019–20 Total CAF Champions League for sponsorship reasons) was the 56th edition of Africa's premier club football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and the 24th edition under the current CAF Champions League title. The Angolan Football Federation ( pt, Federação Angolana de Futebol, FAF) is the governing body of football in Angola. It was founded in 1979, and affiliated to FIFA and to CAF in 1980. It organizes the national football league Girabola and the national team.
