Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Isis (sometimes stylized ISIS) was an American post-metal band formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1997. Keelhaul is a four-piece progressive mathcore/ sludge metal band from Cleveland, Ohio. The members are Aaron Dallison (bass and vocals), Dana Embrose (guitar), Will Scharf (drums), and Chris Smith (guitar and vocals). The band toured Europe in April 2004 and subsequently went on a lengthy break. With no tours or new music recorded, Keelhaul entered the studio in December 2008 with producer Andrew Schneider to record their new album, ''Keelhaul's Triumphant Return to Obscurity''. Time in Malta was an American band from San Francisco, California. History Time in Malta was a post-hardcore band formed in San Francisco, CA in 1998. 27 is an American rock band from Cambridge, Massachusetts. The band was formed by Maria Christopher, formerly of Dirt Merchants, and Ayal Naor in 1997. 27 is commonly categorized as a rock or indie rock band, but the genres lo-fi and emo have occasionally been used to describe them. 27 has toured extensively throughout Europe, North America, and Japan. In the Czech Republic, the band opened for Robert Plant. 27 shares a relatively close relationship with the band Isis. Burn It Down (band)
Burn It Down was an American metalcore band from Indianapolis, Indiana, whose album, ''Let the Dead Bury the Dead'', was released in 2000 on Escape Artist Records. Produced by Ed Rose (The Get Up Kids, Coalesce), the album garnered a 4 "K" review in ''Kerrang!'' and a 4/5 in ''Alternative Press''. It followed two EPs and a split CD with Racetraitor.
