Eni Plenitude S.p.A. Società Benefit (formerly: Eni gas e luce S.p.A. Società Benefit) is an Italian company 100% controlled by Eni S.p.A. active in the sale and marketing of gas and electricity for households and businesses, the production of renewable energy and the management of charging points for electric vehicles. Claudio Descalzi (born 1955) is an Italian businessman, CEO of Eni since May 2014. Education Claudio Descalzi graduated in Physics at the University of Milan in 1979. Career Descalzi started to work at Eni in 1981, when he joined the multinational company operating in the production and distribution of energy as a reservoir engineer. In 1990, Descalzi was appointed Head of Reservoir and operating activities for Eni Italy, a position which led him to develop a new model and to increase production to 250,000 barrels per day. Big Oil is a name used to describe the world's six or seven largest publicly traded and investor-owned oil and gas companies, also known as supermajors. The term, particularly in the United States, emphasizes their economic power and influence on politics. Big Oil is often associated with the fossil fuels lobby and also used to refer to the industry as a whole in a pejorative or derogatory manner.
