East Timorese Genocide
The East Timor genocide refers to the "pacification campaigns" of state terrorism which were waged by the Indonesian New Order (Indonesia), New Order government during the Indonesian Indonesian invasion of East Timor, invasion and Indonesian occupation of East Timor, occupation of East Timor. The majority of sources consider the Indonesian killings in East Timor to constitute genocide, while other scholars disagree on certain aspects of the definition. Initial invasion From the start of the invasion in August 1975, the Indonesian National Armed Forces, TNI forces engaged in the wholesale massacre of Timorese civilians. At the start of the occupation, Revolutionary Front for an Independent East Timor, FRETILIN radio sent the following broadcast: "The Indonesian forces are killing indiscriminately.
