DJ Hyde
David John Markland (born March 1, 1978) is an American professional wrestler and promoter, better known as D. J. Hyde. Professional wrestling D. J. Hyde is the owner of Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW). Hyde purchased the promotion from its original owner, Zandig, in 2009. As a CZW competitor, he is a three-time CZW Iron Man Champion. In December 2012, D.J. Hyde faced "The Bulldozer" Matt Tremont in the main event of Cage of Death. Since 2013, he is also part owner of the all-woman Women Superstars Uncensored wrestling promotion. In addition, D. J. Hyde has traveled the world to compete for several independent promotions, including Big Japan Pro Wrestling and the East Coast Wrestling Association (ECWA), where he serves as the Commissioner of ECWA. MCW Pro Wrestling (formerly known as Maryland Championship Wrestling) is a regional independent wrestling promotion based in Joppa, Maryland. It has regularly run events in the Mid-Atlantic region since the late 1990s. History Maryland Championship Wrestling (MCW) was originally established by wrestlers Dan McDevitt and Mark Shrader as an extension of the wrestling school Bone Breakers Training Center. MCW held its first card at Baltimore's Patapsco Arena on July 19, 1998, featuring Jerry Lynn, Devon Storm, Little Guido, Balls Mahoney, manager Jim Cornette and The Headbangers. During that event, MCW held a six-man match to crown the first ever Light Heavyweight Champion. The Tournament of Death is an annual professional wrestling tournament organized by Combat Zone Wrestling since 2002, during which a number of wrestlers compete in various deathmatches in what are mostly single-elimination tournaments similar to World Wrestling Entertainment's King of the Ring tournament. These tournaments include the typical hardcore weapons used in deathmatch wrestling such as barbed wire, nails, thumbtacks, fire, tables, ladders, and light tubes, and are known for all their large amounts of blood loss. Notable entrants in the Tournament of Death have included Jimmy Havoc, Ian Rotten, Corporal Robinson, Nick Mondo, Ruckus, Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley, Sami Callihan, and Mickie Knuckles (the only female entrant to date).
