Sinch is an American alternative rock band formed in 1994 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. History The alternative rock quartet, Sinch formed in 1994 while its members were attending different high schools in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Doylestown and Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, Willow Grove. To the dismay of parents and the bemusement of friends, the members of Sinch made a pact that upon leaving school they would dedicate themselves to the band rather than pursue college or the military. In 1996 the band self-produced its first album titled, ''The Strychnine'', earning it regular live slots along the East Coast of the United States, East Coast. Post-grunge
Post-grunge is an offshoot of grunge that has a less abrasive or intense tone than traditional grunge. Originally, the term was used almost pejoratively to label mid-1990s alternative rock bands such as Bush (British band), Bush, Candlebox, Collective Soul, Live (band), Live, Foo Fighters, and Silverchair, that emulated the original sound of grunge. Alternative Rock
Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. ''Sinch'' is the first major label release created by the American alternative metal group Sinch, which the band made shortly after being signed to Roadrunner Records. Featuring a deliberately abrasive yet also melodic sound, the album notably includes "Something More", the band's first major single. Background and inspiration The album was produced by Malcolm Springer. He had previously done producing work for bands such as Full Devil Jacket, Matchbox 20, and Collective Soul in the 2000s and late 1990s. Nigel John Taylor (born 20 June 1960) is a British musician who is best known as the bass guitarist for new wave band Duran Duran, of which he was a founding member. Duran Duran was one of the most popular bands in the world during the 1980s due in part to their music videos which played in heavy rotation in the early days of MTV. Taylor played with Duran Duran from its founding in 1978 until 1997, when he left to pursue a solo recording and film career.
