ChuvashTet, (short for "Chuvash Internet", cv, Чӑва́ш Интерне́чӗ, Чӑваште́т, Чӑваш Тете́лӗ) is the name Chuvash-speaking internet users commonly use for the segment of the web about Chuvash people or Chuvashia. It includes websites in various languages. Chuvash internet resources can be located in any domain (or do not have a domain), and corresponding servers are physically located anywhere in the world. Chuvash Internet usually refers not only to the World Wide Web sites, but the Internet and other services that are used for communication in the Chuvash language (messengers, IRC, email), storage and multimedia products on the Chuvash language (file-sharing networks, Internet radio, Internet television). Chuvash People
The Chuvash people ( , ; cv, чӑваш ; russian: чуваши ) are a Turkic ethnic group, a branch of Oghurs, native to an area stretching from the Volga-Ural region to Siberia. Most of them live in Chuvashia and the surrounding areas, although Chuvash communities may be found throughout the Russian Federation. They speak Chuvash, a unique Turkic language that diverged from other languages in the family more than a millennium ago. Etymology There is no universally accepted etymology of the word ''Chuvash'', but there are three main theories. The popular theory accepted by Chuvash people suggests that ''Chuvash'' is a Shaz-Turkic adaptation of Lir-Turkic ''Suvar'' (Sabir people), an ethnonym of people that are widely considered to be the ancestors of modern Chuvash people. The Chuvash Wikipedia ( cv, Чӑваш Википедийӗ) is the Chuvash language edition of Wikipedia. It was founded on November 22, 2004. Its 50,000th article was created in October 2022. Policies Difficult issues are resolved through the Arbitration Committee, which handles content disputes, blocks users or prohibits certain users from editing articles on certain topics. Administrators (currently 2) are elected through a vote; administrators who have become inactive (i.e. have not used administrative tools, such as "delete" or "block" buttons, at least 25 times in six months) may lose their privileges by an Arbitration Committee decision. Chuvashia (russian: Чувашия; cv, Чӑваш Ен), officially the Chuvash Republic — Chuvasia,; cv, Чӑваш Республики — Чӑваш Ен is a republic of Russia located in Eastern Europe. It is the homeland of the Chuvash people, a Turkic ethnic group. Its capital is the city of Cheboksary. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 1,251,619. Jimmy Donal Wales (born August 7, 1966), also known on Wikipedia by the pseudonym Jimbo, is an American-British Internet entrepreneur, webmaster, and former financial trader. He is a co-founder of the online non-profit encyclopedia Wikipedia and the for-profit wiki hosting service Fandom (formerly Wikia). He has worked on other online projects, including Bomis, Nupedia, WikiTribune, and WT Social. Wales was born in Huntsville, Alabama, where he attended Randolph School, a university-preparatory school. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees in finance from Auburn University and the University of Alabama respectively.
