Soledad, Atlántico
Soledad () is a municipality in the Colombian department of Atlántico, part of the metropolitan area of Barranquilla. It is 6th in population in Colombia and 3rd in the Caribbean region, after Barranquilla and Cartagena. Discos Fuentes is a record label based in Medellín, Colombia, South America. Founded in 1934 in Cartagena, Colombia, by Antonio Fuentes Estrada, Discos Fuentes was the country's first notable record label. The label was instrumental in introducing Colombia to such Afro-rhythm genres as cumbia, fandango, merengue, porro, and salsa. The label also helped forge the early careers for such musicians and composers as Guillermo Buitrago, Rafael Escalona, and Julio César Bovea. Discos Fuentes has often been described as Colombia's version of " Motown", peaking in the 1960s and early 1970s. The label achieved a series of firsts for Colombia: the first compilation album (1960) and the first Compact Disc release (1987). Alci Acosta (born Alcibiades Alfonso Acosta Cervantes on 5 November 1938) is a Colombian bolero singer, pianist, and performer of Latin American music including pasillos, corridos, valses, and rancheras. Acosta is a highly successful artist throughout Latin America having partnered with other notable artists such as Ecuadorian singer, Julio Jaramillo, who died in 1978. Acosta's best-selling single to date is "Traicionera" which has sold over 1,300,000 copies across Latin America. The 11th Annual Latin Grammy Awards were held on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was the third time the annual event had taken place at this location. The eligibility period for recordings to be nominated was July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010.
