Capita plc, commonly known as Capita, is an international business process outsourcing and professional services company headquartered in London. It is the largest business process outsourcing and professional services company in the United Kingdom, with an overall market share of 29% in 2016, and has clients in central government, local government and the private sector. It also has a property and infrastructure consultancy division which is the fourth largest multidisciplinary consultancy in the UK. Roughly half of its turnover comes from the private sector and half from the public sector. Whilst UK-focused, Capita also has operations across Europe, Africa and Asia. Paul Pindar (businessman)
Paul Richard Martin Pindar (born 11 April 1959) is an English businessman. He is best known for his 23-year tenure as managing director and chief executive of Capita plc, a provider of business process outsourcing (BPO) services in the UK. Career Pindar trained as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, qualifying in 1984, before joining private equity firm 3i as investment controller. Capita Pindar joined Capita in 1987, initially as finance director, then managing director in 1991, and chief executive in 1999. He was the third-longest serving FTSE 100 CEO after Martin Sorrell and Aidan Heavey when he stood down in 2014. Sir Rodney Malcolm Aldridge (born 7 November 1947) is the founder and former executive chairman of Capita, a British company specialising in business process outsourcing. He is a former Chair of Vinspired, a charity launched in May 2006 aiming to help young people volunteer in their local communities. Aldridge is a patron and former trustee of the Prince's Trust and is currently Chairman of the Aldridge Foundation, an educational charity which sponsors academy schools in England and promotes entrepreneurial education. In the United Kingdom, a series of seven letter bombs were sent during January and February 2007 to various companies and agencies, all related in some way to DNA testing and road transport. Police said that some of the letters were hand written and some typed. All seven letter bombs were sent in A5 Jiffy-style envelopes. Fire Service College
The Fire Service College is responsible for providing leadership, management and advanced operational training courses for senior fire officers from the United Kingdom and foreign fire authorities. It is located at Moreton-in-Marsh in Gloucestershire, England. It has been owned by Capita since February 2013, having previously been an executive agency and trading fund of the Department for Communities and Local Government. The college provides the full range of training for firefighters at all levels, including initial training for recruit firefighters. Robert Stiff (born 24 June 1960) is a Southern Rhodesia born British entrepreneur. Early life Robert Stiff was born in Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) in 1960, where he was brought up by his English parents.
