Caldonazzo Lake
Lago di Caldonazzo is a lake in Trentino, Italy. At an elevation of 449 m, its surface area is 5.38 km². It is located in the valley communities of Alta Valsugana e Bersntol. Water sports like the canoe, the sail, wind surfing and water skiing is famous on the lake. The lake has played an important role; it was, and still is, the "training ground" for Thomas Degasperi, water skier Trentino specialist in the discipline slalom, current European and world champion. Events Many events take place on the lake, especially during the summer. * The most important is the ''Palio dei Draghi'' or Dragon Boat, a competition between boats driven by many rowers. Trentino
Trentino ( lld, Trentin), officially the Autonomous Province of Trento, is an autonomous province of Italy, in the country's far north. Brenta River
The Brenta is an Italian river that runs from Trentino to the Adriatic Sea just south of the Venetian lagoon in the Veneto region, in the north-east of Italy. During the Roman era, it was called Medoacus (Ancient Greek: ''Mediochos'', ''Μηδειοχος'') and near Padua it divided in two branches, Medoacus Maior (Greater Medoacus) and Medoacus Minor (Lesser Medoacus). The river changed its course in the early Middle Ages, and its former bed through Padua was occupied by the Bacchiglione. It is long and was first channelled in the 16th century when a long canal was built from the village of Stra to the Adriatic Sea, bypassing the Venetian lagoon. Alta Valsugana e Bersntol (German: ''Hoch Suganertal und Fersental''; Mocheno: ''Hoa Valzegu' ont Bersntol'') is one of the sixteen districts of Trentino in the Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol. Its administrative seat and major town is Pergine Valsugana. Thomas Degasperi (born 18 January 1981) is an Italian professional water skier. He has won two World Championships, one Masters title, three Moomba masters titles, the Malibu open twice, the World Games, the European championships eight times, the Canadian open, the Ski West Pro, the New Zealand Pro Am twice, the Atalanta Pro Am twice, the Mexico Pro Am, the Global Invitations pro, the Alizee cup, the San Gervasio Pro Am the Botas Pro Am and many more for a total of over 28 pro titles and over 60 pro podiums. Ferragosto
Ferragosto is a public holiday celebrated on August 15th in all of Italy. It originates from Feriae Augusti, the festival of emperor Augustus, who made the 1st of August a day of rest after weeks of hard work on the agricultural sector. It became a custom for the workers to wish their employers "buon ferragosto" and receive a monetary bonus in return. This became law during the Renaissance throughout the papal states. As the festivity was created for political reasons, the Catholic Church decided to move the festivity to the 15th of August which is the Assumption of Mary allowing them to include this in the festivity. This festivity was also used by Mussolini to give the lower classes the possibility to visit cultural cities or go to the seaside for one to three days, from the 14th of August to the 16th, by creating "holiday trains" with extremely low cost tickets, for this holiday period.
