Braty Hadyukiny
Braty Hadiukiny ( uk, Брати Гадюкіни), or simply Hady ( uk, Гади) is a Ukrainian rock band from Lviv, one of the most successful Ukrainian bands of Soviet times. The band's musical style combines different genres such as rock'n'roll, blues, punk, reggae, funk and folk. Ironic song lyrics contain a lot of local vernacularisms, slang and surzhyk. The name translates as "Hadyukin Brothers", where the fictional last name Hadyukin is derived from the word ''hadyuka'', or "viper". The abbreviation literally means "snakes" (In Ukrainian the two words are cognates.) The band was active mainly between 1988 and 1996. In January 2006 they held a big solo concert in Kyiv which was a big event in Ukrainian media space and was visited by a lot of famous people (including Yulia Tymoshenko the prime minister at the time). Lviv ( uk, Львів) is the largest city in western Ukraine, and the seventh-largest in Ukraine, with a population of . ICTV (Ukraine)
ICTV (in full, International Commercial Television) is a privately held TV channel in Ukraine. Its coverage area allows it to be received by 56.6% of the Ukrainian population, making the channel the fourth in the nation in terms of coverage (trailing the state-controlled UT1 and privately held Inter and 1+1), and third (well ahead of UT1) by the viewers' ratings. The channel is owned by several business structures connected to the Ukrainian businessman Viktor Pinchuk. It first went on-air on 15 June 1992, and since 1995 it has broadcast 24 hours a day. On November 11, 2009 "ICTV" joined the media holding "Starlight Media", which also includes TV channels "New Channel", "STB", "OTse TV", "M1", "M2". Dovhonosyky Show
The Dovhonosyky Show ( uk, Шоу довгоносиків, literally The Long Noses Show) was a Ukrainian comedy TV show-series. It was broadcast on TV screens in Ukraine and Russia from 18 May 1996 to 1999, combining the Ukrainian language with Russian and surzhyk. In Ukraine it was rotated on the channels UT-2, 1+1, Inter, STB, in Russia it was rotated on TeleExpo channel. It was product of PRO-TV television company. The program aired weekly, getting 4 seasons with a total of 70 episodes. Filming for the new episodes stopped in 1998, when the show's creators decided that it should be closed so as not to lose quality due to a lack of new ideas. Each of the actors played several different roles in it. The content of most of the sketches was a parody of typical TV entertainment shows. History of creation The series is based on the eponymous satirical fairy tale in verse by Ivan Franko (an adaptation of the popular European tale of Reynard).
