Boni MRT Station
Boni station (also called Boni Avenue station) is a Manila Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station situated on Line 3. It is located in Mandaluyong and is named so due to its proximity to Boni Avenue, which is in turn named after the nickname of Bonifacio Javier, a World War II guerilla leader and former mayor of Mandaluyong. It has several restaurants and shops that surround the station, including a public market located across the train station. It is the eighth station for trains headed to Taft Avenue and the sixth station for trains headed to North Avenue. It is one of five stations on the line where passengers can catch a train going in the opposite direction without paying a new fare due to the station's layout. The other four stations are Araneta Center-Cubao, Shaw Boulevard, Buendia, Ayala, and Taft Avenue. Buendia station is an underground Manila Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station situated on Line 3. It is one of two underground stations that can be found on the line, the other being Ayala. The station lies near the EDSA–Kalayaan Flyover and Gil Puyat Avenue (Buendia Avenue) in Makati. It is the tenth station for trains headed to Taft Avenue and the fourth station for trains headed to North Avenue. It is the second to the last station south of Pasig River and is also the last underground station in the line before the line goes above ground at Guadalupe station. The Metro Rail Transit Line 3, also known as the MRT Line 3, MRT-3 or Metrostar Express, is a Medium-capacity rail system, light rapid transit system line of Metro Manila, Philippines. Santa Mesa is a district in Manila, Philippines. It is surrounded by Pasig River on the southwestern side, and by the San Juan River on its southern and eastern side. Pioneer Street is the continuation of Boni Avenue east of EDSA, Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) in eastern Metro Manila, Philippines. The street has four lanes for most of its course beginning at the EDSA junction in Barangka Ilaya, Mandaluyong, where traffic emerges from the Boni Avenue tunnel, up to its easternmost point at the Shaw Boulevard junction at the boundary of barangays Kapitolyo and San Antonio in Pasig, adjacent to Ortigas Center.
