Berliner AK 07 is a German football club based in the locality of Moabit of the borough of Mitte in Berlin, Germany. The team competes in the fourth tier Regionalliga Nordost. History The association was established on 15 December 1907 in the Wedding district of Berlin as an athletics club interested primarily in running. A football department was formed in 1908 which has since remained a largely anonymous side playing in lower tier city competition. Berliner Weisse
Berliner Weisse (German: Berliner Weiße, ) is a cloudy, sour beer of around 5% alcohol by volume. It is a regional variation of the wheat beer style from Northern Germany, dating back to at least the 16th century. It can be made from combinations of malted barley and wheat, with the stipulation that the malts are kilned at very low temperatures or even air-dried to minimise colour formation. Berliner Pilsner is a beer produced in Berlin, Germany, by Berliner-Kindl-Schultheiss-Brauerei, a division of the Radeberger Group. History Berliner Pilsner was created in 1902 as a small brewery with an adjacent beer garden. In 1969, Berliner Pilsner was nationalised and incorporated in the East German "VEB Berliner Getränkekombinat", a Volkseigener Betrieb (publicly owned corporation). For many years during communist rule, Berliner Pilsner was the leading beer brand in East Berlin. The beer was also exported to Bulgaria, USA, and the United Kingdom. After German reunification in 1990, the brewery was divested and independently run. A Berliner is a German doughnut with no central hole, made from sweet yeast dough fried in fat or oil, with a marmalade or jam filling like a jelly doughnut, and usually icing, powdered sugar or conventional sugar on top. History Sugar was very costly until the 16th century, and early doughnuts were usually stuffed with savory fillings like cheese, meat and mushroom. When imports from Caribbean sugar plantations made sugar more affordable, fruit preserves gained in popularity. In the late 15th century the German-language cookbook '' Kuchenmeisterei'' was published in Nuremberg (it was later translated into Polish in 1532). It was one of the first cookbooks printed using the Gutenberg press and contains the first known recipe for a jelly doughnut, called ''Gefüllte Krapfen'' made with jam-filled yeasted bread dough deep-fried in lard. Berliner Motor Corporation was the US distributor from the 1950s through the 1980s for several European motorcycle marques, including Ducati, J-Be, Matchless, Moto Guzzi, Norton, Sachs and Zündapp, as well as selling Metzeler tires. Berliner Motor was highly influential as the voice of the huge American market to the motorcycle companies they bought bikes from, and their suggestions, and sometimes forceful demands, guided many decisions in Europe as to which bikes to develop, produce, or discontinue. Founding Joseph Berliner founded his motorcycle business in New York City distributing and repairing Zündapp motorcycles east of the Mississippi in 1951, using contacts with that German manufacturer he had developed before World War II. Its records were played on Emile Berliner's invention, the Gramophone, which competed with the wax cylinder–playing phonographs that were more common in the 1890s and could record.
