Ben Phillips (born 1947) is an American-born Canadian poet, teacher and publisher. Biography Born in the United States, where he worked as a journalist, he settled in Toronto, Ontario in 1968. In Toronto he has owned and operated two antiquarian bookshops, established The Folks Upstairs Press and taught English as a second language (ESL) to students and professionals from Japan and South Korea. Ben James Phillips (born 30 September 1974) is an English cricketer who played for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club until his release in 2013. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium pace bowler. Career Phillips began his career at Kent, appearing for their Second XI regularly throughout the late 1990s. His made his first-class cricket debut for the club against Sussex early in the 1996 season, taking four wickets in the match. He failed to impress during the following match against Leicestershire, taking no wickets, and only made one more first-class appearance in the season. Despite scoring his maiden first-class century in 1997 against Lancashire and twice taking 5 wickets in an innings, he dropped out of the first-class game at the end of the 1998 season after 27 appearances for Kent. Benjamin Phillips (born 9 June 1960) is an English football manager and former professional player who played as a right-back. He played in the Football League for Bury. He is currently manager of Radcliffe Borough of the Northern Premier League Division One North. Playing career Phillips was a junior with Blackpool, Manchester City and Preston North End before joining Macclesfield Town. He joined Bury in September 1980. He played 14 times that season and was linked with a move to Bolton Wanderers that fell through due to a pelvic injury, but was released and joined Stalybridge Celtic after a brief spell with Crewe Alexandra.
