BC Tsmoki-Minsk
Basketball Club Minsk ( be, Мінск) is a professional basketball club that is based in the city of Minsk, Belarus. They play in the Belarus Premier League and the VTB United League. The team plays its home games at the Minsk Arena. Established in 2006 as BC Minsk-2006, the club has been the most successful team in Belarusian basketball. Since 2008, Tsmoki has won every Premier League title. In the 2009–10 season, Tsmoki made its European debut in the FIBA EuroChallenge. Since then, the club has participated in a European competition each season. In 2012, the club adopted its current club name Tsmoki-Minsk. The 2017–18 Belarusian Premier League season was the 26th season of the top tier basketball league in Belarus. Competition format Ten teams joined the regular season, that consisted in a four-legged round-robin competition. The eight first qualified teams would join the quarterfinals. 2016–17 FIBA Europe Cup
The 2016–17 FIBA Europe Cup was the 2nd season of the FIBA Europe Cup, a European basketball club competition organised by FIBA Europe. The season began on 18 October 2016, with the regular season, and concluded on April 25, 2017, with the second leg of the Finals. Nanterre 92 was crowned FIBA Europe Cup champions after defeating Élan Chalon. Format changes The regular season phase 1 will be joined by 38 teams, 26 will qualify directly and the other 12 will come from the Basketball Champions League qualifying rounds. These teams will be divided into ten groups, seven groups of four teams and three groups of three teams. 2016–17 Basketball Champions League
The 2016–17 Basketball Champions League was the inaugural season of the Basketball Champions League (BCL), a European professional basketball competition for clubs that was launched by FIBA. The competition began on 27 September 2016, with the qualifying rounds, and concluded on 30 April 2017, at the Final Four. A number of 52 teams from 31 countries participated in the competition, including its qualifying rounds. Iberostar Tenerife won the inaugural season of the BCL, after winning the final of the Final Four which was hosted in its home arena. 2016–17 VTB United League
The 2016–17 VTB United League was the 8th complete season of the VTB United League. It is also the fourth season that the league functions as the Russian domestic first tier level. CSKA Moscow was the defending champion and successfully defended its title. This season, 13 teams participated in the league after four sides from the previous year left. Teams VITA Tbilisi, Bisons Loimaa, ČEZ Nymburk left the league, after participating in the 2015–16 season. Parma Perm from the Russian Basketball Super League joined the league. On August 30, 2016, the league announced that BC Krasny Oktyabr would not play in the league, because the host arena of the team was not approved to support events. 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup
The 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup was the inaugural season of the newly formed basketball competition organised by FIBA. The season started on 21 October 2015 and ended on 1 May 2016. The competition replaced the EuroChallenge and had the aim to take the place of Eurocup (organised by Euroleague Basketball), as the second-tier competition in Europe. Format In the Regular season, 56 teams are divided into 14 groups of four teams. In the Round of 32, the first and second best teams from the Regular season play in groups of four. Starting from the Round of 16, quarter-finals will be played. The tournament will conclude with a Final Four. Teams The deadline to register in the competition was on July 30. The 2015–16 VTB United League was the seventh complete season of the VTB United League. It was also the third season that the league functioned as the Russian domestic first tier level. CSKA Moscow was the defending champion, and the team successfully defended its title. Teams Krasnye Krylia withdrew from the league as the Samara Sports Palace was not adequate for the VTB United League (such as a minimum requirement of 3,000 seats). It planned to reapply for the 2016–17 season after renovations. In its place, Georgian Superliga side VITA Tbilisi was chosen in July 2015, the first side from that country to play in the league. The 2014–15 EuroChallenge was the 12th and last edition of Europe's third-tier level transnational competition for men's professional basketball clubs. The winner and the runner-up of this competition earned a place at the group stage of next year's Eurocup season. The regular season was composed by 32 teams and it started on 4 November 2014. The season ended on 26 April 2015, when JSF Nanterre beat Trabzonspor Medical Park 63–64 in the Final in Trabzon, Turkey. It was the last season of the EuroChallenge, starting from the 2015–16 season, the competition was replaced by the FIBA Europe Cup. 2014–15 VTB United League
The 2014–15 VTB United League was the 6th complete season of the VTB United League. It was the second season in which the VTB United League functioned as the new domestic first tier level for Russian professional basketball clubs, which can qualify through this league to EuroLeague. CSKA Moscow was the defending champion. CSKA successfully defended its title, as they took the league title by beating Khimki 3–0 in the Finals. 2013–14 EuroChallenge
The 2013–14 EuroChallenge was the 11th edition of Europe's third-tier level transnational competition for men's professional basketball clubs. The winner and the runner-up of this competition earned a place at the group stage of the 2014–15 Eurocup season. The Final Four was held in PalaDozza in Bologna, Italy. The host of the tournament, Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia won the Final by beating Triumph Lyubertsy 79–65. Italian player Andrea Cinciarini received the Final Four MVP award. Competition format changes This year's EuroChallenge saw a number of innovations, including the division of the participating clubs into two main Conferences for the Regular Season - Conference 1 and Conference 2 - based on a broad geographical criteria.
