Aue, Saxony
Aue () is a small town in Germany at the outlet of the river Schwarzwasser into the river Zwickauer Mulde in the Ore Mountains, and has roughly 16,000 inhabitants. It was merged into the new town Aue-Bad Schlema in January 2019. Aue was the administrative seat of the former district of Aue-Schwarzenberg in Saxony, and is part of the Erzgebirgskreis since August 2008. It belongs to the Silberberg Town League (''Städtebund Silberberg'') The mining town has been known for its copper, titanium, and kaolinite. The town was a machine-building and cutlery manufacturing centre in East German times and is now developing tourism, as the Silver Road (''Silberstraße'') runs through town. The town is also known for the football club FC Erzgebirge Aue, which is currently playing in the 3rd German division (3. Große Aue
The Große Aue (in its upper reaches known as the ''Aue'' and then also the ''Neuer Mühlenbach'' or ''Mühlbach'') is an , southwestern, left tributary of the River Weser in northern North Rhine-Westphalia and central Lower Saxony in Germany. Course The Große Aue rises at a height of as the ''Aue'' on the southern side of the Wiehen Hills in the village of Dono in the parish of Rödinghausen in North Rhine-Westphalia. After one and a half kilometres it turns north and from its confluence with the Nordbach, which joins it from the west at Schwenningdorf, is known as the ''Große Aue''. It crosses a water gap in the Wiehen Hills, losing 40 metres of height and powering two mills, so that in the section through the Wiehen crest it has been named the ''Neuer Mühlbach'' ("New Mill Stream") after the ''Neue Mühle'' ("New Mill") at Schwenningdorf. The Aue is a river in northern Germany in the district of Stade in Lower Saxony. It has a length of about . Course The Aue rises in the vicinity of near Ahlerstedt and flows through the towns and villages of: * Ahrensmoor-West, * Ahrenswohlde, * Bokel, * Klethen, * Oersdorf, * Kakerbeck, * Bargstedt/Klein Hollenbeck, * Harsefeld, * Issendorf and * Bliedersdorf to Horneburg, where it changes its name and from there on flows as the Lühe for a further to the River Elbe. Flood In August 2002 a flood, caused by a long period of heavy rain in the catchment area of the river, broke through the dykes at Horneburg and caused considerable damage there. Horneburg responded to the threat of further flooding by building a stronger quay wall within the village and renovating the dykes. Hartmann Von Aue
Hartmann von Aue, also known as Hartmann von Ouwe, (born ''c.'' 1160–70, died ''c.'' 1210–20) was a German knight and poet. With his works including ''Erec'', ''Iwein'', '' Gregorius'', and ''Der arme Heinrich'', he introduced the Arthurian romance into German literature and, with Wolfram von Eschenbach and Gottfried von Strassburg, was one of the three great epic poets of Middle High German literature. Life Hartmann belonged to the lower nobility of Swabia, where he was born. After receiving a monastic education, he became retainer (''Dienstmann'') of a nobleman whose domain, Aue, has been identified with Obernau on the River Neckar. He also took part in the Crusade of 1197. The date of his death is as uncertain as that of his birth; he is mentioned in Gottfried von Strassburg's ''Tristan'' (c. 1210) as still alive, and in the '' Crône'' of Heinrich von dem Türlin, written about 1220, he is mourned for as dead. Paul Aue
Oberst Paul Aue was a World War I flying ace from the Kingdom of Saxony in the German Empire. Partial records of his early aviation career credit him with 10 aerial victories. He would join the nascent ''Luftwaffe'' during the 1930s and serve Germany through World War II. He died in a Russian prison camp in 1945. Aue (Oste)
The Aue is a left, southwestern, tributary of the Oste in northern Lower Saxony, Germany. It is about long. Geography Before the construction of the the Aue was the natural outlet of the lake in the southwest part of the parish of Wingst on the southern edge of the collective municipality of Am Dobrock. The Balksee is, in turn, fed by several streams. The Aue today no longer has any direct link with the Balksee and rises on its northern edge. The Aue, as a former sea creek, has no natural gradient. The water level is artificially held below sea level by dyke sluices and a pumping station. The Aue (german: Aue or ''Aue Bach'') is a meandering stream in Lower Saxony, Germany. The Aue source is near Waake. It enters the Seeburger See near Seeburg and drains it at Bernshausen. A mere creek, it is not navigable. It is a left (west) tributary of the Suhle in , part of Rollshausen. The elevation at the mouth is about 157 m asl. Bad Berleburg
Bad Berleburg (, earlier also Berleburg) is a town, in the district of Siegen-Wittgenstein, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is one of Germany's largest towns by land area. It is located approximately northeast of Siegen and northwest of Marburg an der Lahn. Geography Location Bad Berleburg lies in the northeast of Siegen-Wittgenstein in the middle of the Rothaargebirge, a low mountain range. The western town limit is also the boundary with the neighbouring district of Olpe. The town is also bordered on the north by the Hochsauerland district.
