Ann Kok
Ann Kok (; born 11 January 1973) is a Singaporean actress. She started her acting career in 1993 after emerging as a finalist in the local talent-search competition ''Star Search'', where she won a contract to work on Chinese-language TV channel SBC 8 (now MediaCorp Channel 8). Subsequently, Kok rose to popularity and played numerous lead roles in television series in the 1990s. She was ranked the "Third ''Ah Jie''" by the local media, which defined her as the third most prominent actress in Singapore's Chinese-language entertainment industry of that time. In 2000, Kok ventured overseas to expand her acting career. She returned to Singapore and joined the now-defunct MediaWorks in 2003 and later MediaCorp in 2005. Star Awards
The Star Awards (Chinese: 红星大奖) are awards for artistic and technical merit in the media organisation Mediacorp of Singapore where Mediacorp recognises entertainers under their employment for outstanding performances of the year. The awards are given annually in a ceremony. The various category winners are awarded a trophy, with initial designs featuring various star shapes. The star was subsequently removed and the trophy is designed as a S shaped column, depicting the star. History The 1st Star Awards presentation was held on 26 February 1994, took place at the Caldecott Broadcast Centre, MediaCorp TV Theatre with an audience of about 500 people. Star Awards 2013 ( Chinese: 红星大奖 2013) was a double television award ceremony held in Singapore. It is part of the annual Star Awards organised by MediaCorp for the two free-to-air channels, MediaCorp Channel 8 and MediaCorp Channel U. Star Awards 2013 was broadcast live on Channel 8, on 21 April 2013 and 28 April 2013. The first ceremony was held at the MediaCorp TV Theatre while the second ceremony was held at the Marina Bay Sands. The ceremonies were also broadcast on 8 International and the second ceremony on Astro AEC & Astro Quan Jia HD for the first time in HD.
