Aníbal António Cavaco Silva, Order of Christ (Portugal), GCC, Order of Liberty, GColL, Order of Prince Henry, GColIH (; born 15 July 1939) is a Portuguese economist who served as the 19th president of Portugal, in office from 9 March 2006 to 9 March 2016. Vasco Ilídio Alves Cordeiro (born 28 March 1973) is a Portuguese Socialist Party politician, who served as President of the Regional Government of the Azores from 2012, following his party's victory on the 2012 Azores regional election, until 2020. Early life Vasco Cordeiro was born in the civil parish of Covoada, deannexed from the neighboring parish of Relva, in the flanks of the Serra Devassa, northwest of Ponta Delgada.
