Alliance Of Religions And Conservation
The Alliance of Religions and Conservation (ARC) was a United Kingdom-based international organisation founded by Prince Philip, in 1995. ARC was a secular body whose aim was to assist the major religions of the world to develop environmental programmes based on their own core teachings, beliefs and practices. In 2007 it joined with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to develop a significant and innovative programme to work with the world’s major faiths to address issues of global warming and the natural environment through the development of faith-based “Long Term Commitments for a Living Planet” – pledges of faith action on the environment aimed at achieving generational change. Many of the religions working with ARC presented their Long-Term Commitments at the ARC-UNDP conference in Windsor Castle in November 2009, at which Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon and Prince Philip were present. Kelston Park
Kelston Park is an 18th-century country house in the village of Kelston, approximately 3 miles from Bath in North East Somerset, England. Altogether the house and gardens of Kelston Park cover an area of approximately . The house has been designated as a Grade II* listed building, and the garden is Grade II* listed in the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. Muslim Seven Year Action Plan On Climate Change
The Muslim Seven Year Action Plan on Climate Change is a climate action plan for the global Islamic community, meant to run from 2010 to 2017. It was developed by the British Earth Mates Dialogue Center and the Kuwait Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. It is one of several multi-year climate action plans developed by major religious communities, developed in coordination with the Alliance of Religions and Conservation and the United Nations Development Programme.
