Name
A name is a term used for identification by an external observer. They can identify a class or category of things, or a single thing, either uniquely, or within a given context. The entity identified by a name is called its referent. A personal name identifies, not necessarily uniquely, a ''specific'' individual human. The name of a specific entity is sometimes called a proper name (although that term has a philosophical meaning as well) and is, when consisting of only one word, a proper noun. Other nouns are sometimes called "common names" or (obsolete) "general names". A name can be given to a person, place, or thing; for example, parents can give their child a name or a scientist can give an element a name. Etymology The word ''name'' comes from Old English ''nama''; cognate with Old High German (OHG) ''namo'', Sanskrit (''nāman''), Latin '' nomen'', Greek (''onoma''), and Persian (''nâm''), from the Proto-Indo-European (PIE) ''*h₁nómn̥''. Outside Indo-Europea ...

Aka (sailing)
Polynesian multihull terminology, such as "ama", "aka" and "vaka" (or "waka") are multihull terms that have been widely adopted beyond the South Pacific where these terms originated. This Polynesian terminology is in common use in the Americas and the Pacific but is almost unknown in Europe, where the Anglo-Saxon terms "hull" and "outrigger" form normal parlance. Outriggers, catamarans, and outrigger boats are a common heritage of all Austronesian peoples and predate the Micronesian and Polynesian expansion into the Pacific. They are also the dominant forms of traditional ships in Island Southeast Asian and Malagasy Austronesian cultures, where local terms are used. Etymology The term ''vaka'' or ''waka'' means "boat" or "canoe" in most Polynesian languages. It comes from Proto-Austronesian *abaŋ , meaning "ship" or "canoe". Cognates in other Austronesian languages include Ivatan ''Awang'', Tagalog and Visayan ''bangka'', Malay ''wangkang'', and Fijian ''waqa''. "Ama", ...

True Widow
True Widow is an American rock band formed in 2007 and based in Dallas, Texas. The band's expansive guitar-driven sound has led them to be cited as "drop-tuned, slow, repetitive, heavy, dreamy, and undeniably ear-wormy". True Widow has been known for contrasting alternation between male and female vocals. To date, the band has released four albums, their eponymous album ''True Widow'' (2008), ''As High As the Highest Heavens and From the Center to the Circumference of the Earth'' (2011), ''Circumambulation'' (2013), and after extensive touring, they released ''Avvolgere'' (2016). Biography Phillips formerly served guitar and lead vocal duties in the more indie rock-oriented Dallas band Slowride. Following the disbandment of Slowride, he soon decided to take a break from music, and moved away from his native Texas to Massachusetts where he shifted his focus to wood art exclusively for two years. After returning to Dallas, Phillips had aspired to a heavier sound and recruited Esti ...

The A
''The'' () is a grammatical article in English, denoting persons or things already mentioned, under discussion, implied or otherwise presumed familiar to listeners, readers, or speakers. It is the definite article in English. ''The'' is the most frequently used word in the English language; studies and analyses of texts have found it to account for seven percent of all printed English-language words. It is derived from gendered articles in Old English which combined in Middle English and now has a single form used with pronouns of any gender. The word can be used with both singular and plural nouns, and with a noun that starts with any letter. This is different from many other languages, which have different forms of the definite article for different genders or numbers. Pronunciation In most dialects, "the" is pronounced as (with the voiced dental fricative followed by a schwa) when followed by a consonant sound, and as (homophone of pronoun '' thee'') when followed ...

''Histeria!'' is an American animated series created by Tom Ruegger and produced by Warner Bros. Animation. Unlike other animated series produced by Warner Bros. in the 1990s, ''Histeria!'' was an explicitly educational program created to meet FCC requirements for educational/informational content for children. ''Histeria!'' aired on Kids' WB from September 14, 1998 to March 31, 2000, and continued to air reruns until August 30, 2001. The show was presented as a ''Saturday Night Live''-style sketch comedy, with its cast often filling the roles of historical figures. It was to be WB's most ambitious project since '' Animaniacs''. Like the aforementioned series, 65 episodes were originally going to be made, but due to being $10 million over budget, only 52 episodes were completed before production of the series was canceled in March 2000. Due to the high production costs, footage from previous episode was often re-used and re-timed to match newly recorded audio, as well as ...
