Abhidhammattha-sangaha
The ''Abhidhammattha-saṅgaha'' (The Compendium of Things contained in the Abhidhamma) is a Pali Buddhist instructional manual or compendium of the Abhidhamma of the Theravāda tradition. Mental Factors (Buddhism)
Mental factors ( sa, चैतसिक, caitasika or ''chitta samskara'' ; pi, cetasika; Tibetan: སེམས་བྱུང ''sems byung''), in Buddhism, are identified within the teachings of the Abhidhamma (Buddhist psychology). They are defined as aspects of the mind that apprehend the quality of an object, and that have the ability to color the mind. Abhidhamma Piṭaka
The ''Abhidhamma Piṭaka'' (Pali; Sanskrit: ''Abhidharma Piṭaka''; English: ''Basket of Higher Doctrine'') is a collection of canonical texts in the Theravada Buddhist tradition. Together with the Vinaya Piṭaka and the Sutta Piṭaka it comprises the '' Tipiṭaka'', the "Three Baskets" of canonical Theravada Buddhist texts. The ''Abhidhamma Piṭaka'' is a detailed scholastic analysis and summary of the Buddha's teachings in the ''Suttas''. Vipassanā-ñāṇa
The Vipassanā-ñāṇas (Pali, Sanskrit: Vipaśyanā-jñāna) or insight knowledges are various stages that a practitioner of Buddhist Vipassanā ("insight", "clear-seeing") meditation is said to pass through on the way to nibbana. This "progress of insight" (''Visuddhiñana-katha'') is outlined in various traditional Theravada Buddhist commentary texts such as the Patisambhidamagga, the Vimuttimagga and the Visuddhimagga. Pali () is a Middle Indo-Aryan liturgical language native to the Indian subcontinent. Rewata Dhamma
Sayadaw U Rewata Dhamma ( pi, Revatadhamma; 4 December 1929, Thamangone – 26 May 2004, Birmingham) was a prominent Theravada Buddhist monk and noted Abhidhamma scholar from Myanmar (Burma). After pursuing an academic career in India for most of two decades, he accepted an invitation to head a Buddhist centre in Birmingham UK, and over the next three decades gained an international reputation as a teacher of meditation and an advocate of peace and reconciliation. Dharmananda Damodar Kosambi
Acharya Dharmananda Damodar Kosambi (9 October 1876 – 4 June 1947) was a prominent Indian Buddhist scholar and Pāli language expert. He was the father of the illustrious mathematician and prominent Marxist historian Damodar Dharmananda Kosambi. Biography Kosambi was born in the Sankhval village of Goa in 1876 in orthodox Saraswat Brahmin family. He was married at the age of sixteen. He was passionately interested in knowledge and felt that married life would not allow him to pursue this goal. He thus attempted to leave home several times, but lacked the courage to do so and he returned to his family. However, after the birth of his first daughter, Manik, he did leave his family not returning for nearly four years.
