AZL Rangers
The Arizona Complex League Rangers are a Rookie-level affiliate of the Texas Rangers, competing in the Arizona Complex League of Minor League Baseball. The team plays its home games at Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Arizona. The team is composed mainly of players who are in their first year of professional baseball either as draftees or non-drafted free agents. History The team began play in 2003 in the Arizona League (AZL), succeeding the Texas Rangers' prior rookie team, the Florida-based Gulf Coast League Rangers. The team has captured two league championships, in 2010 and 2019. Prior to the 2021 season, the Arizona League was renamed as the Arizona Complex League (ACL). John Danks
John William Danks (born April 15, 1985) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago White Sox. Personal life Danks graduated from Round Rock High School in Texas in 2003 and was named the co-central Texas player of the year that season. Danks was drafted in the first round, ninth overall in the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft by the Texas Rangers. His brother, Jordan Danks, was his teammate on the White Sox from 2012 to 2014. Edinson Vólquez
Edinson Vólquez (; born July 3, 1983) is a Dominican former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers, Cincinnati Reds, San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Kansas City Royals and Miami Marlins. Zachary David Phillips (born September 21, 1986) is a Mexican-American professional baseball pitcher for the Rieleros de Aguascalientes of the Mexican Baseball League. Mike Olt
Michael George Olt (born August 27, 1988) is an American former professional baseball third baseman. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago White Sox. He played college baseball at the University of Connecticut. Amateur career Olt attended Branford High School in Branford, Connecticut, where he played for the school's baseball team. He started at shortstop for the school's varsity baseball team in all four years at Branford. In 2006, Branford won the Connecticut state championship. After graduating high school, Olt was not selected in the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft. Gerald Lee Laird III (born November 13, 1979) is an American former professional baseball catcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, Atlanta Braves, and Arizona Diamondbacks. Career Oakland Athletics Laird first attended Rancho Alamitos High School, and then later graduated from La Quinta High School in Westminster, California. Odúbel David Herrera Jr. ( ; born December 29, 1991) is a Venezuelan professional baseball center fielder for the Kansas City Monarchs of the American Association of Professional Baseball.
