987 (formerly known as Perfect Ten 98.7FM before 26 June 2005) is a Singapore's first 24-hour English music radio station in Singapore of Mediacorp in Singapore. It plays English hits from Singapore, United Kingdom, United States, and around the world. 987FM is the sole contemporary hit radio station broadcasting on the FM frequency band in Singapore. 987 was launched as Perfect Ten 98.7FM on New Year's Day 1989 at midnight SST as 24-hour music radio station in English. Its studio is current at Mediacorp Campus, Mediapolis. The radio station was slogan: ''Singapore's #1 Hit Music Station.'' Singapore Radio Awards 2010, was the 5th radio awards ceremony presented by Singapore's MediaCorp. to honour the best radio personalities and radio shows in 2009. After a hiatus in 2008 and 2009, the 2010 show took place on March 13, at MediaCorp TV Theatre. The ceremony also featured a live webcast for the first time. The hosts for the night were Justin Ang and Vernon A, also known as The Muttons from 987FM. It was their first time hosting the Singapore Radio Awards, as past ceremonies engaged other TV and stage hosts, instead of utilizing talents from within its radio fold. Awards 24 awards were presented during the show. 987FM was the biggest winner of the night, winning a total of 4 awards, while Vimala from Tamil station Oli 96.8FM won 3 individual awards. The Golden Mic Awards ( Chinese: 金唛奖; previously known as Singapore Radio Awards) is an accolade by Singapore's MediaCorp to recognize excellence of presenters and producers in MediaCorp Radio. Although the moniker Singapore may suggest a representation of all radio stations in Singapore, the nominations are only open to MediaCorp Radio stations.
