2013 CAF Super Cup
The 2013 CAF Super Cup (also known as the 2013 Orange CAF Super Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 21st CAF Super Cup, an annual football match in Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), between the winners of the previous season's two CAF club competitions, the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. The match was contested between Al-Ahly of Egypt, the 2012 CAF Champions League winner, and AC Léopards of the Republic of the Congo, the 2012 CAF Confederation Cup winner. It was hosted by Al-Ahly at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria on 23 February 2013. Al-Ahly won the match 2–1 to claim their 5th CAF Super Cup. The 1994 CAF Super Cup was the second CAF Super Cup, an annual football match in Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), between the winners of the previous season's two CAF club competitions, the African Cup of Champions Clubs and the African Cup Winners' Cup. The match took place on 16 January 1994, on neutral stadium at First National Bank Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa, between Egyptian clubs Zamalek, the 1993 African Cup of Champions Clubs winner, and Al-Ahly, the 1993 African Cup Winners' Cup winner. Wael Kamel Gomaa El Hawty ( ar, وائل كامل جمعة الحوتي; born 3 August 1975) is an Egyptian retired professional footballer who played as a centre-back. He is regarded as one of the best African defenders of all time. Sherif Mohamed Abdel-Fadil ( ar, شريف محمد عبد الفضيل; born 2 July 1983) is an Egyptian footballer. Sherif Ekramy Ahmed Ahmed El-Shahat ( ar, شريف إكرامي; born 10 July 1983) is an Egyptian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Pyramids FC and the Egyptian national team. An Al Ahly youth product, Ekramy moved to Dutch club Feyenoord in 2005. At Feyenoord he received little playing time and was loaned to Ankaragücü in 2008. After four years at Feyenoord he returned to Egypt signing with El Gouna FC, whom he helped win promotion to the top flight for the 2009–10 season. Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. The 2009 CAF Super Cup was the 17th CAF Super Cup, an annual football match in Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), between the winners of the previous season's two CAF club competitions, the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. The match was contested by 2008 CAF Champions League winners, Al-Ahly, and 2008 CAF Confederation Cup winners, CS Sfaxien at the International Stadium in Cairo on 6 February 2009. Al-Ahly won the match 2–1, with two goals from Angolan striker Flávio, and won the title for the record fourth time (having won the Super Cup in 2002, 2006 and 2007), all of them under the management of Manuel José.
