2005 South American Ski Mountaineering Championship
The 2005 South American Ski Mountaineering Championship ( es, Campeonato Sudamericano de Esquí de Montaña) was the first edition of a South American continental championship of competition ski mountaineering, The event, which was carried out in combination with the last race of the ''South American Ski Mountaineering Cup'' race and the "2nd International Open" event at San Carlos de Bariloche from 26 to 27 August 2009, was organized by the Federación Argentina de Ski y Andinismo (FASA) and the ''Club Andino Bariloche'' (CAB). It was officially sanctioned by the International Council for Ski Mountaineering Competitions (ISMC), by the Unión Panamericana de Montaña y Escalada (UPAME), by the Federación Española de Deportes de Montaña y Escalada (FEDME) and by the ''Escuela Militar de Montaña'', the mountain warfare school of the Argentine Army. Mercedes Noel "Tety" Sahores Rosauer (born September 24, 1974) is an Argentine ski mountaineer and mountain climber. She is the first Argentine woman to climb the summit of the Mount Everest, on May 19, 2009. Biography Sahores, daughter of Luis María Sahores Gattari and his wife Marta Irene Rosauer, was born in the Neuquén Province as the youngest of four children. Her oldest brother Luis María ("Minino") died from Leukemia at the age of 20 years. Carlos Eduardo Cabezas Jurado (born November 14, 1980) is a Spanish former professional basketball player. He is the nephew of the former Uruguayan professional footballer Hugo Cabezas, who played in Spain in the late 70s. His father (Hugo's brother), and his grandfather, are also former Uruguayan professional basketball players. He is a 1.87 m (6 ft 1 ¾ in) tall point guard. Professional career Cabezas began his playing career with the youth teams of Unicaja Málaga in Spain. He made his professional debut during the 1998–99 season with Unicaja Macías, the reserve team of Unicaja Málaga, in the Spanish EBA League ( Spanish 2nd division).
