Software

The Xperia Z5 Premium is preinstalled with Android 5.1 Lollipop with Sony's custom interface and software. It also has been upgraded to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow. On August 23, 2016, Sony announced that the Xperia Z5 Premium would receive an upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat. On February 16, 2017, Android 7.0 Nougat has been upgraded for the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Dual Sim E6883. On June 28, 2017, it started to roll out the Android 7.1.1 Nougat firmware update.
