Plot

A beautiful but frustrated housewife named Elena lives on a remote Greek island with her wealthy but emotionally distant husband Orestes. Elena feels trapped in her loveless marriage, yearning for passion and genuine connection. Her mundane existence is disrupted when Yanni, a former childhood friend and lover, returns to the island after many years away. Elena and Yanni rekindle their romantic relationship, beginning a passionate affair that awakens feelings Elena had long suppressed. As their secret meetings become more frequent and intense, Elena finds herself torn between the security of her marriage and the intoxicating freedom of her forbidden love. However, their affair does not go unnoticed. Orestes, though initially oblivious to his wife's infidelity, gradually becomes suspicious of Elena's changed behavior and frequent absences. His jealousy and paranoia begin to surface as he starts to piece together the truth about his wife's betrayal. Faced with the growing threat of discovery and Orestes' increasingly volatile behavior, Elena and Yanni realize their secret cannot remain hidden much longer. Desperate to be together and fearful of the consequences if their affair is exposed, the adulterous lovers make a fateful decision to plot Orestes' murder, believing it to be their only path to freedom and happiness together.
