The Gateway Shopping Centre

The Gateway Shopping Centre, also colloquially known as "The Gateway" comprises approximately 40 stores, including parking for 490 parking spaces. The Gateway is located at the crossroads of the major arterial Frankston-Cranbourne Road, and the two collector roads of Southgateway and Pindara Blvd. The centre predominance comes from the Coles supermarket located inside.

Langwarrin Plaza Shopping Centre

Langwarrin Plaza Shopping Centre, also known as "The Plaza," includes 16 stores, including parking for approximately 277 parking spaces. The centre is based on three separate buildings, however the main trisection is focused on the northern building where a Woolworths and BWS is located.

History

In 1980 the first stores in The Gateway Shopping Centre were built close to the intersection of Frankston-Cranbourne Road and Southgateway, built by Federation Centres. In 1983 the main entrance to The Gateway was built, but the two halves did not connect inside the building, and patrons had to walk outdoors to enter each building separately. In 1991 a McDonalds and fuel station were built, now run by BP, in The Gateway, being open 24 hours a day. From 1997-1999 a further development of The Gateway was built which featured the connection of the two parts of the mall and a large store area which is now occupied by Coles. In December 2004 the Langwarrin Plaza Shopping Centre completed construction along with the neighbouring
