Returning to Los Angeles in 1985, he heard that Disney was looking for a storyboard artist to work on '' Oliver & Company'' (1988). Allers married Leslee Hackenson in 1965. In March 2020, Allers filed for divorce from Hackenson. They have a daughter, Leah, and a son, Aidan.
