but missed the 2011 final due to injury. On 21 May 2012, the day after Leinster won their second straight Heineken Cup he was announced as the ERC Player of the Year for 2012. During the 2011–12 campaign he started all nine European matches scoring six tries. Kearney confirmed his departure from Leinster on 24 September 2020.

Western Force

In late September 2020, it was confirmed that Kearney had signed a one-year contract with Australian side Western Force. Kearney made his Force debut in an 11–27 defeat to the Brumbies on 19 February 2021.
