Puss in Boots is the orange, domestic shorthair tabby cat who is a DreamWorks character from ''Shrek 2,'' and '' Puss in Boots'' of 2011 who appears in the streaming television series, '' The Adventures of Puss in Boots'' (2015-2018). Puss was voiced by Eric Bauza in this six-season series that streamed on Netflix as a spin-off of the 2011 movie, and the ''Shrek'' franchise. The series was also cablecast on a kids network. The DreamWorks' Puss in Boots speaks English with an endearing Spanish accent.

On television, the movie, ''Puss in Boots'' (2011) was streamed on both Amazon and Netflix. The DreamWorks version of Puss in Boots is a cat from the ''Shrek'' franchise, who is also the protagonist of '' Puss in Boots'' (2011). Puss in Boots was voiced by Antonio Banderas in English, Italian, and Spanish in the following films: ''Shrek 2'', and ''Far Far Away Idol'' in 2004, '' Shrek the Third'' (2007), '' Shrek Forever After'' (2010), '' Puss in Boots'' (2011), '' Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos'' (2012), and '' Puss in Boots: The Last Wish'' (2022).

Puss was voiced by Eric Bauza in the six-season series that appeared on Netflix, and cable tv, ''The Adventures of Puss in Boots.'' Puss was voiced by Andé Sogliuzzo, and Christian Lanz in the video games, and in the series of one-minute web-videos by DreamWorkstv wherein Puss gives advice to his fans, called ''NEW Puss in Boots!'' by Peacock Kids on YouTub

There are several Puss in Boots video games based on the 2011 film and others. Various actors did the voice.

* '' Puss in Boots'', a video game based on the film, developed by Blitz Games, and published by THQ on October 25, 2011 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Nintendo DS. It features support for Kinect and PlayStation Move on the respective platforms.
* '' Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots'', a ''Puss in Boots''-themed '' Fruit Ninja'' video game, which was released on October 20, 2011, on the iOS App Store, and was released for Android devices on November 28, 2011, on the Amazon Appstore.

In advertising and animatronics

The global COVID-19 pandemic started in December 2019. The 2020 Summer Olympics in Japan (Tokyo 2020), was postponed to July 23, 2021 to August 8, 2021. Chevy’s Silverado’s “Cat” commercial aired in 2021. The 2022 Winter Olympics took place in Beijing, China, from February 4 to 20, 2022. Chevy Silverado’s “Walter in Winter” ad aired during the Winter Olympics the same day as the 2022 (LVI) Super Bowl which took place on Sunday, February 13, 2022 on NBC, Telemundo, and Streaming (including Peacock).

The fascinating stories told with cats in commercials contribute to their success. Played by six different cats, the character of Walter is a silver, domestic shorthair tabby cat that appears in four Chevy Silverado Trail Boss commercials (two co-starring John Hoogenakker, and making two cameos with Chris Pratt). "Cat" is the summer commercial aired during the 2021 Olympics, and the 2021-2022 NFL championship games. First aired in Canada, the sequel to "Cat", "Walter in Winter" premiered in the U.S. on Super Bowl Sunday, February 13, 2022 on NBC during the Winter Olympics before Super Bowl LVI. Ads were shown jointly on NBC, Telemundo, and streaming (including on Peacock). The actions done by the cats include: herding cows, jumping into the truck, chasing cats up a tree, digging out a skier stuck in the snow, jumping off a dock into a lake, swimming back with a stick, running on ice, bursting through a screen door, and looking cute. A scene with Hoogenakker and Walter on the look-out on the ground in the tall grass reminds viewers that the human actor played Matice in ''Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan'' series. The two ads with the cat in the storyline made Walter famous. Walter appears in the back of the truck when Pratt shows the audience how the rear-viewer works. "Walter!" he says. The last Chevy ad with Walter showed him cleaning his paw in the back of the truck. The Walter commercials continue to run on YouTube on the Internet where millions of fans ask, "Where's Walter?" and re-post his work.

Unpaid fans, Caroline Jarvis Hopkins (and her husband Mack), replicated the summer commercial word-for-word with their own, orange tabby cat, Marvin. She ended her commercial with a beer that was a nod to a previous, successful ad campaign done by Hoogenakker. Marvin has a fan club too.

Morris the cat was played by several cats, but the main one lived and worked for a long time. A male actor did a sarcastic voiceover routine. Morris also had many fans, and even got a lot of fan mail from children.
