History

The first written mention of Kokořín is from 1320.

Transport

There are no railways or major roads passing through the municipality.


Sights

The main landmark is the Kokořín Castle. It was originally a medieval fortress carved in the local sandstone. In the mid-14th century, it was rebuilt into the castle. Today it is open to the public and offers guided tours. Kokořín Chateau is a small rural Baroque castle from the mid-18th century.
