Rama Rao hosted the reality show, ''Bigg Boss 1'' that was broadcast on the Star Maa. Rama Rao's television debut was a huge success and had a record breaking ratings for Star Maa, making it the number one channel among all the shows. The show began airing from 16 July 2017. He has also been as a guest in Telugu reality game show '' Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu'' and Telugu reality dance shows ''Dhee 2'' and ''Dhee 10''. In February 2021, he was confirmed to be the host of ''

Philanthropy

In 2009, Rama Rao announced that he intended to donate 20 lakhs to Chief Minister's Relief Fund to take up relief operations for flood victims. During '' Baadshah'' audio function in 2013, a fan died due to a heavy stampede, NTR donated 5 lakhs to his family. Rama Rao also promised to take care of his family, due to the fan's sudden demise. In 2014, Rama Rao announced that he intended to donate 20 lakhs to CM's Relief Fund to take up relief operations for victims of Cyclone Hudhud in Andhra Pradesh.
