Volleyball career

Binstock began competing in volleyball when he was 23 years old, on the beach circuit during his off-season from the University of Toronto. He is known for his defensive ability and is able to play the left and right side. He is known to be a good setter and has a very efficient side out game. He won two straight Canadian National Championships with Matt Zbyszewski, in 2008 and 2009. In 2014 he and partner Sam Schachter were Canadian national champions, his third national championship, and also won a gold medal at the Paraná Open, an FIVB (international volleyball federation) World Tour event. In 2015 they placed 9th at the FIVB World Championship, and came in second at the Major Series tournament in
