Hunter Biden laptop story "has the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation". There has been a diligent effort to demonstrate that the Hunter Biden laptop story is disinformation. However, NPR had to make the correction, “A previous version of this story said U.S. intelligence had discredited the laptop story. U.S. intelligence officials have not made a statement to that effect” after making the false claim that the Hunter Biden laptop story had been discredited.
