Organization

IDF is divided into seven regions, to strengthen the work of national diabetes associations and enhance the collaboration between them. IDF's national diabetes associations are divided into the following regions: Africa (AFR), Europe (EUR), Middle East and North Africa (MENA), North America and Caribbean (NAC), South and Central America (SACA), South East Asia (SEA) and Western Pacific (WP). Global Initiatives

World Diabetes Day (WDD) is a global awareness campaign led by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), observed on November 14 yearly. It focuses on diabetes mellitus and promotes awareness about the disease. Type 2 diabetes is preventable and treatable, while Type 1 diabetes is manageable with insulin injections
The campaign themes
have included diabetes and human rights, lifestyle, obesity, disadvantaged populations, and children. The day itself marks the birthday of Frederick Banting, one of the discoverers of insulin in 1922. Diabetes Voice Diabetes Voice is the quarterly magazine of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF). IDF is an umbrella organization representing over 240 national diabetes associations in 168 countries and territories. It advocates for the interests of the increasing number of people with diabetes and those at risk
Global Diabetes Walk
which reports on political, professional, and humanitarian campaigns and outreach initiatives, is celebrating its 15th anniversary. Since 2004, thousands of Global Diabetes Walks have raised awareness and galvanized communities.
