Schools


History

Flushing Middle School was opened in January 2006. The old Jr. High was built in 1927, and now is used as an early childhood center. Seymour Elementary was built in 1963 and got four more classrooms in 1992. The school has the biggest playground of all of the elementary schools in the Flushing Community School district. One more fact about Seymour Elementary is that its cafeteria is also its gymnasium. The mascot of Seymour Elementary is the Knight and the Seymour students call themselves the Knights. Seymour Elementary’s motto is “Be Respectful, Responsible, and Safe.” The principal at Seymour Elementary is Steve Groulx.
