Design and trim options

Maruti revised Versa's G13 engine to fit into Eeco. The new engine had a reduced bore and the swept capacity was 1196cc; it is designated as the G12 engine. The 5-speed gearbox is carried over from Versa. Eeco has air-conditioning, a digital trip meter, integrated headrests in the front row, and tubeless radial tires. The 1196 cc CNG-powered variant delivers a fuel economy of 18 km/kg in city and 20 km/kg on highways, while the Petrol variant offers a mileage of 13 kmpl on urban roads and 15 kmpl and freeways, respectively. It features diagonal shift assistance for smoother diagonal gear movements, rather than the earlier rigid straight line gear shifting. Trims are as follows: *5-seater, Standard *5-seater, AC *7-seater, Standard Other variants are below:

Maruti Suzuki Eeco Green

Maruti Suzuki also introduced the EECO Green Range. It is equipped with Maruti Suzuki’s advanced i-GPI technology and runs on nature's ECO Fuel-CNG. It is claimed to be safer, more efficient and cuts down on fuel costs. It is available in 5 seater AC and standard variants, and is equipped with futuristic Intelligent Gas Port Injection (i-GPI) Technology. EECO also comes with the electric variant. The EECO charge runs on lithium ion batteries. However, the size is a hampering factor as the range per charge is a mere 100 km. The EECO Charge's electric motor churns out 67 BHP powered by lithium ion batteries that can hold 24 kWh. It takes 7 hours to recharge the battery fully at 220 V and has zero exhaust emission. The car has two modes, sports and economy, although the top speed of the car is maximum 180 km/h. It also comes with a two-years warranty, and is positioned as an eco-friendly car.

Safety

The Eeco for India with no airbags nor ABS received 0 stars for adult occupants and 2 stars for toddlers from Global NCAP in 2016 (similar to Latin NCAP 2013).https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5fb4ea8933ae6c208c3dac41/t/61f3c81bbbc50710557d7bb8/1643366428803/Maruti-Suzuki-Eeco-NO-Airbags.pdf
