The series is most remembered for JR Smith's Game 1 blunder where he dribbled out the clock at the end of regulation after an offensive rebound with 4.7 seconds thinking the Cavs were leading; the game was instead tied. The Cavs would end up losing in overtime and not come close to winning another game in the series. Smith of the Cavaliers collected an offensive rebound following a missed free throw, but dribbled the ball towards half court rather than taking a final shot. Tyronn Lue, Cleveland's coach, later said that Smith thought the Cavaliers were ahead, though Smith denied not knowing the correct score, and claimed he assumed his team would take a time-out.
