Zulu Language
Zulu ( ), or isiZulu as an endonym, is a Southern Bantu languages, Southern Bantu language of the Nguni languages, Nguni branch spoken in, and indigenous to, Southern Africa. Nguni dialects are regional or social varieties of the Nguni language, distinguished by vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and other linguistic features. So, Zulu is one of the Nguni dialects which is spoken by the Zulu people, with about 13.56 million native speakers, who primarily inhabit the province of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. The word "KwaZulu-Natal" translates into English as "Home of the Zulu Nation is Natal". Zulu is the most widely spoken home language in South Africa (24% of the population), and it is understood by over 50% of its population. Zu (beverage)
''Zu'' is an alcohol beverage produced as a rice beer originating from Mizoram. Zu has been known as the favoured drink among the Mizos from the chiefdom era to the modern day. Production ''Zu'' would typically be prepared by elderly women with supervision from expert brewers in the community. ''Zu'' prepared for important ceremonies such as Chapchar Kut would be tasted by the brewing experts through a special bamboo straw. All variations of ''zu'' rely on a starter known as ''dawidim'' or ''chawl''. It is a traditionally prepared dried starter made from the bark of a climber called ''zangzu'', ''nilengthlum'' or ''hawhmathlum''. Rice is soaked in water overnight and dried for 15 minutes to remove excess water. It is then pounded into a power and made into a paste by adding a small amount of water. Yotsugana
are a set of four specific kana, じ, ぢ, ず, づ (in the Nihon-shiki romanization system: ''zi'', ''di'', ''zu'', ''du''), used in the Japanese writing system. Nobiliary Particle
A nobiliary particle is a type of onomastic particle used in a surname or family name in many Western cultures to signal the nobility of a family. The particle used varies depending on the country, language and period of time. In some languages, it is the same as a regular prepositional particle that was used in the creation of many surnames. In some countries, it became customary to distinguish the nobiliary particle from the regular one by a different spelling, although in other countries these conventions did not arise, occasionally resulting in ambiguity. Zu (band)
Zu is an Italian instrumental band from Rome. While their line-up of baritone sax, bass guitar and drums is typical of a jazz band, their hard-driving sound is indebted to punk rock and according to AllMusic "defies easy categorization". Zu have collaborated with a wide variety of musicians and been described as "masters at adapting to their guests' musical backgrounds". History Hailing from Ostia (Rome), Ostia (a town near Rome), Zu are an atypical trio consisting of drums, bass, baritone saxophone and electronics. Cuneiform zu, (also sú, ṣú, and Sumerogram ZU (capital letter majuscule)), is an uncommon-use sign in the 1350s BC Amarna letters, the ''Epic of Gilgamesh'', and other cuneiform texts. Alphabetically, it could conceivably be used for letters ''z'', ''s'', ''ṣ'', or ''u''; however in the Amarna letters it is used mostly for ''personal names'' or ''geographical names''. Tsu (hiragana: つ, katakana: ツ) is one of the Japanese '' kana'', each of which represents one mora. Both are phonemically , reflected in the Nihon-shiki and Kunrei-shiki Romanization tu, although for phonological reasons, the actual pronunciation is , reflected in the Hepburn romanization tsu. The small ''kana'' っ/ッ, known as sokuon, are identical but somewhat smaller. They are mainly used to indicate consonant gemination and commonly used at the end of lines of dialogue in fictional works as a symbol for a glottal stop. Chinese Ritual Bronzes
From , elaborately decorated bronze vessels were deposited as grave goods in the tombs of royalty and nobility during the Chinese Bronze Age. Documented excavations have found over 200 pieces in a single royal tomb. They were produced for an individual or social group to use in making ritual offerings of food and drink to his or their ancestors and other deities or spirits. Such ceremonies generally took place in family temples or ceremonial halls over tombs. These ceremonies can be seen as ritual banquets in which both living and dead members of a family were supposed to participate. Details of these ritual ceremonies are preserved through early literary records. On the death of the owner of a ritual bronze, it would often be placed in his tomb, so that he could continue to pay his respects in the afterlife; other examples were cast specifically as grave goods.
