White Lion
White Lion is an American glam metal band that was formed in New York City in 1983 by Danish vocalist Mike Tramp and American guitarist Vito Bratta. Mainly active in the 1980s and early 1990s, they released their debut album ''Fight to Survive'' in 1985. The band achieved success with their No. 8 hit Wait (White Lion song), "Wait" and No. 3 hit "When the Children Cry" from their second album, the double platinum selling ''Pride (White Lion album), Pride''. The band continued their success with their third album, ''Big Game (album), Big Game'' which achieved Gold status and their fourth album ''Mane Attraction'' which included a supporting tour. ''The Best of White Lion'' is the first greatest hits compilation album from the glam metal band ''White Lion'', released in September 1992. The compilation features all of White Lion's charted singles from their three most successful albums: ''Pride'', '' Big Game'' and ''Mane Attraction''. "Broken Heart" was initially released on the band's debut album ''Fight to Survive'' but later re-recorded on the ''Mane Attraction'' album. ''Rocking the USA'' is the first White Lion live compilation album released in 2005, now better known as Tramp's White Lion or White Lion 2, with all new band members again but still features original lead singer Mike Tramp. Background and recording Following the release of five solo albums in the last seven years ending with the album '' Songs I Left Behind'' in 2004, Tramp continued with the reformation of White Lion. The album '' Last Roar'' which was also released in 2004 featured new re-recorded versions of White Lion classic tracks and with the new line up Tramp went on tour in 2005. ''Mane Attraction'' is the fourth studio album by the glam metal band White Lion. It was released in 1991 by Atlantic Records, and reached No. 61 on the US ''Billboard'' 200 and No. 31 in the UK. Overview After a year of writing and recording, White Lion released ''Mane Attraction'' in the spring of 1991, which was received well by the fans. Unfortunately, the album failed to reach the top 20 like the last two albums. It received little airplay due to the rising popularity of grunge. Angel is an American rock band from Washington, D.C., formed in the mid-1970s by Punky Meadows, Mickey Jones, and Gregg Giuffria. They were primarily known for their flamboyant glam stage presence and white satin outfits. History Angel was discovered by Kiss bass player Gene Simmons performing at a nightclub and was eventually signed to the same label as Kiss, Casablanca. Angel's image of dressing in all white was a deliberate contrast to Kiss, who wore black. Angel sported an androgynous image and elaborate stage sets. Mabel (band)
Mabel was a Danish pop music group from Stenløse, Denmark. They came to prominence after winning the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix song contest with the song " Boom Boom" in 1978, and represented Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest the same year. The band were successful in Denmark and Spain. Mabel later became the metal band Studs, and disbanded in late 1982. Lead singer Mike Tramp went on to form White Lion in 1983. History Mabel were originally a band called The Cops formed by Chris Have, Otto Kulmbak (Andy Larsson), and Peter Nielsen while they were still in school in Stenløse.
