The Hornheads
The Hornheads are a collective of brass and woodwind session musicians based in Minneapolis–Saint Paul. They have played on albums and tours for a wide variety of musical artists, most notably Prince, who originally hired the musicians and led to the group's founding. History Founding and touring band for Prince, 1991–1994 The group was founded without a name in 1991 when Prince wanted a horn section to accompany the New Power Generation on his next album. Trombonist and arranger Michael B. Nelson was brought in as the band leader, along with Dave Jensen (trumpet/flugelhorn), Kathy Jensen (saxophone), Steve Strand (trumpet/flugelhorn), and Brian Gallagher (saxophone). During these early years, the group sometimes went as "The NPG Horns," but were ultimately credited as "The Hornheadz" on Prince's albums. Graham Central Station
Graham Central Station was an American funk music, funk band named after founder Larry Graham (formerly of Sly and the Family Stone). The name is a pun on New York City's Grand Central Terminal, often colloquially called Grand Central Station. Vulfpeck is an American funk/soul band formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 2011. Founded by multi-instrumentalists Jack Stratton, Theo Katzman, Woody Goss, and bassist Joe Dart, the band has released four extended plays, six studio albums, a compilation, and a live album through their own record label. Phillip Upchurch (born July 19, 1941) is an American soul music, R&B, jazz and blues guitarist and bassist. Career Upchurch started his career working with the Kool Gents, the Dells, and the Spaniels, before going on to work with Curtis Mayfield, Otis Rush, and Jimmy Reed. (His association with Kool Gents member Dee Clark would continue, including playing guitar on Clark's 1961 solo hit "Raindrops (Dee Clark song), Raindrops".)
