The Angels (American Group)
The Angels were an American girl group best known for their 1963 No. 1 hit single " My Boyfriend's Back". The Angels originated in New Jersey as the Starlets, consisting of sisters Barbara "Bibs" and Phyllis "Jiggs" Allbut, Bernadette Carroll, and Lynda Malzone. They had local hits and worked as backup singers in the studio. Linda Jansen replaced Malzone as lead singer, and the group eventually changed their name to the Angels. In 1963, they signed with Mercury Records' subsidiary Smash Records and released their biggest hit, "My Boyfriend's Back," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold over one million copies. The group underwent several lineup changes and disputes over their name, resulting in a temporary rebranding as the Halos. In 2005, the Angels were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. Peggy Santiglia
Margaret "Peggy" Santiglia (born May 4, 1944) is an American pop singer of the "girl group era". She is perhaps best known for her 1963 pop hit " My Boyfriend's Back" with The Angels, which she recorded at the age of 18. Biography Santiglia was born in Belleville, New Jersey, to Pietro (Peter) Santiglia and Michelina (Margaret) (née Gallina) where she was raised in a musical Italian family with her two older siblings, Joseph and Anna. Pietro immigrated to the United States when he was 18, bringing with him many musical talents. An accomplished musician, Pietro played clarinet, mandolin and guitar locally and statewide in several community orchestras. The Four Seasons is an American band formed in 1960 in Newark, New Jersey. Since 1970, they have also been known at times as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. They are one of the List of best-selling music artists, best-selling musical groups of all time, having sold an estimated 100 million records worldwide. Winner Jr. was the financial and managing partner of the For-profit corporation. Winner and Anthony F. Butala were the corporate officers/stockholders of The Museum Company. Kapp Records was an independent record label started in 1954 by David Kapp, brother of Jack Kapp (who set up American Decca Records in 1934). David Kapp founded his own label after stints with Decca and RCA Victor. Kapp licensed its records to London Records for release in the UK.
