Pure Function
In computer programming, a pure function is a function that has the following properties: # the function return values are identical for identical arguments (no variation with local static variables, non-local variables, mutable reference arguments or input streams), and # the function has no side effects (no mutation of local static variables, non-local variables, mutable reference arguments or input/output streams). Thus a pure function is a computational analogue of a mathematical function. Some authors, particularly from the imperative language community, use the term "pure" for all functions that just have the above property 2 (discussed below). Examples Pure functions The following examples of C++ functions are pure: Impure functions The following C++ functions are impure as they lack the above property 1: The following C++ functions are impure as they lack the above property 2: The following C++ functions are impure as they lack both the above properties 1 ...

Pure (magazine)
Peter Sotos (born April 17, 1960) is an American writer and musician. In his books, Sotos examines sadistic sexual criminals and sexually violent pornography, particularly involving children. His writings are interpreted by some as commenting on media hypocrisy around these issues. His books are often first person narratives, taking on the point of view of the sexual predator in order to explore sadistic and pedophilic sexual impulses. Early life Sotos is a graduate of Holy Cross High School. He attended Northern Illinois University for one year and studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for four years. ''Pure'' magazine and after In 1984, while the day care sex abuse hysteria phenomenon was sweeping the nation and while attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Sotos began producing the controversial magazine ''Pure'', notable as the first zine dedicated to serial killer lore. Pure (No Angels Album)
''Pure'' is the third studio album by all-female German pop group No Angels. It was released by Polydor and Cheyenne Records on 25 August 2003 in German-speaking Europe. Conceived after the departure of original member Jessica Wahls, the project marked No Angels's first studio release as a quartet and their final album before their temporary disbandment in fall 2003. The remaining four members reteamed with frequent collaborators Thorsten Brötzmann and Peter Ries to work on the majority of the album, with additional songwriting and production contribution from Tobias Lundgren, Perky Park, Nigel Rush, Stephan Ullman, and duo Twin. Recorded at the Department-2-Studios in Frankfurt, ''Pure'' is predominately a pop album with slight elements of electronic, pop rock and Latin music, marking a departure from the contemporary R&B and teen pop-oriented sound of previous projects; its lyrics explore themes of heartbreak, love, family, and escapism. Elaborating a more grown-up theme fo ...

Pure (Gary Numan Album)
''Pure'' is the fourteenth solo studio album by English musician Gary Numan, released in November 2000 by Eagle Records. Music and lyrics Lyrically, ''Pure'' was seen as continuing Numan's attacks on Christian dogma, but in a somewhat more personal fashion than on his previous album, '' Exile'' (1997). The recording featured an expanded group of collaborators after the largely one-man efforts of '' Sacrifice'' (1994) and ''Exile''. The Sulpher team of Rob Holliday and Monti contributed guitar and drums, respectively, as well as keyboards and additional production. The opening/title song was typical of most tracks on the album, beginning with ethereal strings and piano effects that gave way to an industrial metal guitar riff before breaking into a thunderous chorus. It was described by Numan as an attempt to explore the mind of a rapist and murderer. "Walking With Shadows" started with a scenario similar to the early Tubeway Army song "The Life Machine", that of a man in ...

Pure (Godflesh Album)
''Pure'' is the second studio album by English industrial metal band Godflesh. It was released on 13 April 1992 through Earache Records. Though originally labeled only as industrial metal, the album has since been recognised as one of the earliest post-metal releases. Musically, ''Pure'' is rhythmically mechanical and features harsh guitars, with protracted songs and an abundance of deliberate repetition. Like much of Godflesh's music, it is regarded as particularly heavy and aggressive, and these elements helped it gain critical acclaim. ''Pure'' was supported by the promotional single of and music video for "Mothra", and the 1991 EP '' Cold World'' was recorded in the same sessions as the album. In 2013, Godflesh performed the majority of ''Pure'' live at Roadburn. Despite dissatisfaction with the production quality of the album, Godflesh frontman Justin Broadrick considers it one of the band's most honest releases. In 2012, '' Fact'' ranked ''Pure'' as the 64th best album of ...
