Proscaline
Proscaline (4-propoxy-3,5-DMPEA) is a psychedelic and hallucinogenic drug. It has structural properties similar to the drugs mescaline, isoproscaline, and escaline. In '' PiHKAL'', Alexander Shulgin reports that a dose of 30–60 mg produces effects lasting 8–12 hours. Chemistry Proscaline is in a class of compounds commonly known as phenethylamines, and is the 4-propoxy homolog of mescaline. The full name of the chemical is 4-propoxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine. Legality Proscaline is a Class A controlled substance in the UK. Proscaline is unscheduled and unregulated in the United States, but it could be considered an analog of a schedule I drug, mescaline, under the Federal Analog Act and thus be subject to the same control measures and penalties for possession and manufacture as a Schedule I drug. Isoproscaline
Isoproscaline or 4-isopropoxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine is an analog of mescaline. It is closely related to proscaline and was first synthesized by David E. Nichols. It produces hallucinogenic, psychedelic, and entheogenic effects. Chemistry Isoproscaline is in a class of compounds commonly known as phenethylamines, and the full chemical name is 2-(4-isopropoxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)ethanamine. Effects Little is known about the psychopharmacological effects of isoproscaline. In his book '' PiHKAL'', Alexander Shulgin lists a psychedelic dosage as being 40–80 mg, with effects lasting 10–16 hours. Allylescaline
Allylescaline (4-allyloxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine) is a lesser-known psychedelic drug. It is closely related in structure to mescaline. Allylescaline was first synthesized by Otakar Leminger in 1972. The compound was later synthesized by Alexander Shulgin and further described in his book '' PiHKAL''. The dosage range is listed as 20–35 mg, and the duration 8–12 hours. Allylescaline produces an entactogenic warmth, an entheogenic effect, and a feeling of flowing energy. Very little data exists about the pharmacological properties, metabolism, and toxicity of allylescaline. Legal status Allylescaline is illegal in Sweden as of January 2016. These drugs are known in the UK as ''controlled drugs'', because this is the term by which the act itself refers to them. In more general terms, however, many of these drugs are also controlled by the Medicines Act 1968, there are many other drugs which are controlled by the Medicines Act but not by the Misuse of Drugs Act, and some other drugs (alcohol, for example) are controlled by other laws. The Misuse of Drugs Act sets out three separate categories, Class A, Class B, and Class C. Class A drugs represent those deemed most dangerous, and so carry the harshest punishments. 3C-P (α-Methyl-4-propoxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine) is a psychedelic phenethylamine. It has structural and pharmacodynamic properties similar to the drugs mescaline, proscaline, and amphetamine.
