Ngô Đình Diệm
Ngô Đình Diệm ( , or ; ; 3 January 1901 – 2 November 1963) was a South Vietnamese politician who was the final prime minister of the State of Vietnam (1954–1955) and later the first president of South Vietnam ( Republic of Vietnam) from 1955 until his capture and assassination during the CIA-backed 1963 coup d'état. Diệm was born into a prominent Catholic family with his father, Ngô Đình Khả, being a high-ranking mandarin for Emperor Thành Thái during the French colonial era. Diệm was educated at French-speaking schools and considered following his brother Ngô Đình Thục into the priesthood, but eventually chose to pursue a career in the civil service. He progressed rapidly in the court of Emperor Bảo Đại, becoming governor of Bình Thuận Province in 1929 and interior minister in 1933. Vietnamese Democratic Socialist Party
The Viet Nam Democratic Socialist Party () was a political party in South Vietnam. History It was founded in 1944 by Huỳnh Phú Sổ, the founder of Vietnamese new religious movement Hòa Hảo. The party was formed through the unity of a sector of socialist-minded people in Saigon and some provincial sect leaders. The party was persecuted by the Việt Minh, predecessor of North Vietnam. Huỳnh Phú Sổ was killed by the Việt Minh in 1947, after which the party was dissolved. In February 1955, General Nguyễn Giác Ngộ of Hòa Hảo claimed that the party had been revived. Phan Khắc Sửu (; vi-hantu, 9 January 1893 – 24 May 1970) was a South Vietnamese engineer and politician who served as a minister in Bảo Đại's government of the State of Vietnam and as a civilian Chief of State of the Republic of Vietnam from 1964–65 during the rule of the various military juntas. Early life and career He was born on 9 January 1893, to a family of landowners in Mỹ Thuận village, An Trường canton, Cái Vồn district, Cần Thơ province, French Indochina. He was a founding member of the Cao Đài religion. His Cao Đài name was Huỳnh Đức. In 1914, he studied abroad in Tunis and then in Paris, France, where he obtained a degree in agricultural engineering. Trần Thiện Khiêm
Trần Thiện Khiêm (; 15 December 1925 – 24 June 2021) was a South Vietnamese soldier and politician, who served as a General in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) during the Vietnam War. He was born in Saigon, French Cochinchina, Cochinchina, French Indochina (now Vietnam). During the 1960s, he was involved in several coups. He helped President Ngô Đình Diệm put down a 1960 South Vietnamese coup attempt, November 1960 coup attempt and was rewarded with a promotion. In 1963, however, he was involved in the 1963 South Vietnamese coup, coup that deposed and Arrest and assassination of Ngo Dinh Diem, assassinated Diêm. Nguyễn Khánh
Nguyễn Khánh (}; 8 November 192711 January 2013) was a South Vietnamese military dictator and Army of the Republic of Vietnam general who served in various capacities as head of state and prime minister of South Vietnam while at the head of a military junta from January 1964 until February 1965. He was involved in or against many coup attempts, failed and successful, from 1960 until his defeat and exile from South Vietnam in 1965. Khánh lived out his later years with his family in exile in the United States. He died in 2013 in San Jose, California, at age 85. Nguyễn Ngọc Thơ (; vi-hantu, 26 May 190812 June 1976) was a South Vietnamese politician who was the first vice president of South Vietnam, serving under President Ngô Đình Diệm from 1956 until Diệm's overthrow and assassination in 1963.
