Powerglove (band)
Powerglove is an American instrumental power metal cover band. They are known to play metal cover versions of classic video game themes. The band is named after the Power Glove, a NES controller accessory. History Formation, ''Total Pwnage'', and ''Metal Kombat'' (2003 - 2008) The band was started as a side project of the members' various other bands. A melodic death metal band all the members were in disbanded, and the group decided to further develop Powerglove. The band's first recording was "Dr. Wily's Theme" from ''Mega Man 2'' in early 2003, which was followed by "Storm Eagle" from ''Mega Man X'' and the theme from ''Mighty Morphin Power Rangers''. The band records their music in various locations and mixes them in a home studio. The band recorded and released its debut EP, '' Total Pwnage'', in 2005 (later re-released in 2008). Power Glove is an Australian electronic music and synthwave (2000s genre), synthwave duo from Melbourne, Victoria, named after the Power Glove made by Mattel for the Nintendo Entertainment System. They provided the soundtrack to the 1980s-influenced retro-futuristic video game ''Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon'' (April 2013). The soundtrack was met with critical acclaim. History Power Glove was formed in Melbourne as the electronic music, synthwave (2000s genre), synthwave duo with the pseudonyms of Michael Biehn and Michael Dudikoff, whose real names are brothers Jarome and Joel Harmsworth. They named the band based on a self-described obsession with the 1989 advertisements for the Power Glove accessory for the Nintendo Entertainment System. ''Mighty Power Rangers'' (''MMPR'') is an American superhero television series that premiered on August 28, 1993, on the Fox Kids programming block. It is the first entry of the ''Power Rangers'' franchise, and became a 1990s popular culture, pop culture phenomenon along with a large line of toys, action figures, and other merchandise. The show adapted stock footage from Japanese television series ''Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger'' (1992–1993), which was the 16th installment of Toei Company, Toei's ''Super Sentai'' franchise. DragonForce are a British power metal band from London, formed in 1999. They are known for their long and fast guitar solos, fantasy-themed lyrics and retro video game-influenced sound. The band themselves refer to their music as "extreme power metal". DragonForce's current lineup comprises guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman, vocalist Marc Hudson, drummer Gee Anzalone, and bassist Alicia Vigil. Herman Li (; born 3 October 1976) is a Hong Kong-born British musician. He is one of the lead guitarists, producers and songwriters for the power metal band DragonForce. Li has played with the band based in England since it was formed in 1999 by Li along with Sam Totman, both of whom are also the remaining original members of the band. Before DragonForce he was in the black metal band Demoniac. Early life Herman Li was born on 3 October 1976 in Hong Kong and moved to France, then to England during his teenage years. Psychostick is an American comedy metalcore band from Tempe, Arizona, known for their comical image and usage of humor in their songs and lyrics.
